to be honest, so few care about the "social" network in as much as the instant messaging. you'll see communities spring up and people flock to where their hobbies are. i'll go find some internet radio communities or maybe start one; a "niche" community.minds.com is trying to grow. the problem is most people won't do a bulk move from facebook to anywhere like they did from myspace to facebook. this time you'll just see people moving away from social media in general.I often asked why conservatives weren't creating their own social apps to avoid the left shutting them down on the main apps.
Now I know why.
First they ban you for hate speech on the usual platforms. Hate speech......
Then you create your own app and the powers that be BAN THE APPS from their devices.
Google explains why it banned the app for Gab, a right-wing Twitter rival
The left have a strangle hold on our free expression.
Correct. Trying to start a new social media site to go against Twitter or FB is like trying to invent a new soda to compete with Pepsi. Joining the game late is not the easiest thing to do.
what i *would* miss is just the interaction of who is doing what tonight. my niece bought a house and i got to see the day 1 pics and videos. the trick is to link people together w/o having a "facebook" type of site.
you'll see something like that coming and likely being "thought up" in the next few years. people simply won't stay where one side taunts the other and limits the ability to "taunt back". the left wouldn't stay, why should the right?
