Do they ALWAYS have to jump on top of a person and put their knees in their necks? Whatever happened to approaching a person and asking them questions? Lol. It seems like, lately, I've been seeing a lot of footage of cops just diving on top of people without even giving them a chance to say anything, like that video of the tennis star. Good grief! I would also be pissed off if I was that guy!!!

I watch the TV reality series, COPS, a lot. While I can't say they always do that I will say they do it eight out of ten times, often when it is absolutely unnecessary.

This incident will result in a major damage award to the Down victim's parents or guardians.

The security guards (bouncers) who killed this fellow were acting on behalf of the theater owner, who is responsible for their action. These three are cops who were moonlighting, therefore presumably were instructed in their academy training to never use a choke-hold to restrain a subject -- for exactly this reason. Inasmuch as these three off-duty cops were not acting in an official capacity it is doubtful they can justify the level of force used.
