The filthy lucre raked in by huckstering trumpybibles and and gilded clodhoppers aside, crime, these days, pays - and pays very, very well.
The legally-designated sexual abuser, business fraud, and convicted felon was given $50 million by fat cat banking heir Timothy Mellon on the same day a jury of his peers found him guilty on 34 felony counts.
And the cesspool of felonious largesse is far from dry. Grand juries have charged the incorrigible malefactor with dozens more - fifty-four, at least. - with the potential of committing even more offenses if the torrent of cash should ever abate.
Rock-ribbed conservatives once frowned at the ignominious prospect of having one’s nation actually headed by a certified scumbag.
In 2016, there was a presidential candidate who was merely under investigation. It fizzled, and she was never charged with any crime, much less convicted of any, but America’s integrity, in the estimation of some. was still on the line.
In defiance of the noble American principle of ”Innocent until Proven Guilty,” lowlifes were encouraged to bleat
Understandably, for American patriots, even the remote possibility of an established criminal occupying the highest office in the land was unthinkable!
Her opponent, at the time a mere FBI investigation was announced, brayed that it “changes everything!” calling it “the biggest story since Watergate!”
“If she wins, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis…
We could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and,
ultimately, a criminal trial. It would grind government to a halt!”
[Trump Once Said a Candidate Under Federal Investigation 'Has No Right to Be Running'?]
Of course, in 2016, despite the ululations of hysterical lynch mobs, no grounds for prosecution were contrived, no indictments issued, no prosecutions conducted, no guilty verdicts issued.
