The gop's problem is it can't politically do that. There is a law mandating people buy subsidized coverage or pay a "tax." The markets in which people buy coverage may collapse and there may not be coverage available, but the taxes will remain without a new law. And the people who benefited from the subsidized policies will be pissed. And the Medicaid expansion remains as well.
