Damn!!! Where is that "global warming" when we need it???

That isn't the globe. That's a map of the U.S. No charge for the geography lesson.
So let me understand.... colder temperatures DON"T affect the overall global warming trend... of what has it been
  1. Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. The rate of warming is increasing.

You said it!!!

The last thread was moved so someone had to start another one. It just proves that for the deniers it isn't about the science, it's all about the politics. They couldn't care less about the scientific principles involved.

Again, you cannot get it straight. It's called Climate Change.

It shows the birth of a tropical storm in the Pacific Ocean on Oct. 31, 2014, it’s evolution into Super Typhoon Nuri as it sweeps up toward Japan (but luckily misses it), and its transition into one of the most powerful extratropical storms on record in the Bering Sea — and quite probably the strongest.

Nuri’s spawn, the Bering Sea superstorm, has kicked the jet stream over North America into an exaggerated wavy pattern. This allowed unusual warmth to build along the West Coast over the weekend, and a chunk of the polar vortex to plunge south over the northern plains and farther south.

Right now, in fact.

"Scientific principles" ... does that include using as a base point temperatures since when??
For example temperature reading stations have been around since..The longest-running temperature record is the Central England temperature data series, that starts in 1659. The longest-running quasi-global record starts in 1850.[1]

These readings have been done before satellites by humans reading in all sorts of environments mercury with the attempt to get a close to accurate as the eyeball can be...(remember the old thermometers before digital..how hard to read the differences between 80.2 degrees and 80.5 degrees?" Couldn't? RIGHT!
then we have this..
when "The number of [Siberian] stations increased from 8 in 1901 to 23 in 1951 and then decreased to 12 from 1989 to present only four (4) stations, those at Irkutsk, Bratsk, Chita and Kirensk, cover the entire 20th century.

IEA analysts say climatologists use the data of stations located in large populated centers that are influenced by the urban-warming effect more frequently than the correct data of remote stations…The scale of global warming was exaggerated due to temperature distortions for Russia accounting for 12.5% of the world’s land mass.
The IEA said it was necessary to recalculate all global-temperature data in order to assess the scale of such exaggeration.

So explain to me if 12.5% of the land mass' temperatures WERE NOT included, why wouldn't the temperatures be skewed higher?

So if temperature readings are biased as NOAA assessed when closing 600 weather stations amid criticism they're situated to report warming thanks to temperature readings from sweltering parking lots, airports and other locations that distort the true state of the climate.
Indeed, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has closed some 600 out of nearly 9,000 weather stations over the past two years that it has deemed problematic or unnecessary, after a long campaign by one critic highlighting the problem of using unreliable data.
The agency says the closures will help improve gathering of weather data, but critics like meterologist and blogger Anthony Watts say it is too little, too late.

But we have scientific consensus the temperature has risen..
There is little doubt that the Earth is heating up. In the last century the average temperature has climbed about 0.6 degrees Celsius (about 1 degree Fahrenheit) around the world.
1 degree!

hold on. I'll turn on the weather channel and get a political update.

1 degree!

water freezes at 32 degrees

ice melts at 33 degrees

ONE DEGREE GOOBER, ONE DEGREE .

It's actually unfortunate that global warming, or not warming, became the focal point of the issues around environmental protection.

People should support protecting the environment whether the planet is getting warmer, getting colder, or staying the same.

The focus on global warming has sadly given the polluters something of an advantage.

You're so yesterday with your terminology and even more behind when it comes to the root of the story.

Bering Sea Superstorm Among the Strongest Extratropical Cyclones on Record

""""""Partially derived from former Super Typhoon Nuri, (my note: that's a HURRICANE) the typhoon's remnants joined up with the polar jet stream and a very strong disturbance in the mid-latitude belt of westerly winds, leading to explosive development of low pressure."""

HURRICANES near the Arctic Circle, gramps. That's called climate change.
