With the delay of the employer mandate until 2015 put into play, what does this mean? Well it means that now employers can drop insurance and their employees can run to the exchange and get subsidized insurance. Who will be paying for this? We will with interest seeing we don’t have enough money to pay for this and will need to borrow the money. You see with the mandate if the employer does not offer the minimum allowed coverage to over 30 hour employees the group would have to pay the penalty has be put off. Now it is more beneficial not to offer the same insurance as this year and just let your employees in lower income brackets elect out and join the exchange with a subsidized plan. Why do this you ask? That is simple the mid term elections. Democrats are doing what they do best and that is buying votes with tax payer money.
