Trump has painted himself into a corner. He staked his campaign on building a wall and making Mexico pay for it
Well, Mexico is not paying and the wall is nowhere to be seen. 2020 is on the horizon and Trump has nothing to show
Dems need something worth more than $5 billion to save Trump
How about solidifying Obamacare ?
under Obama the dems voted and funded the wall, now they oppose it solely to get a 2020 talking point, hypocrisy at its worst.
mexico is already paying for the wall through improved trade deals, US wealth is staying here, not being transferred to mexico.
Obamacare was/is a disaster, there aint no free lunch, someone has to pay and there aren't enough rich to cover all the rest.
Have you ever posted anything which is not an echo from Trump, Hannity, Limbaugh or McConnell?
Maybe if Trump offers to resign, Dems will give the $5 billion for a wall
This is politics, after all. Give and take. Or at least that USED to be the rule, when we were sane.
What would be a good trade-off to write that check? Improved DACA status? Amnesty of some kind? Maybe another issue? Climate change funding?
.
trump in prison orange....
In practice Trump will offer nothing in return for his wall
He has seen what happens when he alienated Rush Limbaugh
We appropriated 1.3 billion last year for border security and did NOT spend all of it.
2.5 would be MORE than adequate since "wall building" is no longer what we are talking about...and in return Trump needs to reauthorize DACA
Yea...no..not gonna fly. We've done that dance beforeWe appropriated 1.3 billion last year for border security and did NOT spend all of it.

DACA should be limited to those who have been here for X years (pick a number). No new people ever again. Everyone here illegally whether a border jumper of a visa overstayer, should be deported immediately if DACA is reinstated for a fixed number of those already here. chain migration should be made illegal. Sanctuary cities should be cut off from all federal funding until they are incompliance with all federal immigration laws. DEAL?
Yeah, right. Mexico is paying for the wall. That's why the government is shut down.
Is there anything Trump can say that Trumpkins won't believe?

Yeah, right. Mexico is paying for the wall. That's why the government is shut down.

improved trade deals with mexico have resulted in increased federal revenues by virtue of more profitable US companies. Mexico is already paying indirectly for the wall. Trump never said that mexico would cut us a check for the wall, it was always an indirect payment, and its already happened.
please stop lying about this.
then I guess the shut down continues. zero affect on 99.99% of americans.

Did you unhinge your jaw to swallow that? What a goof! I suspect you wouldn't know a lie if Trump spit it in your face.

But pretty devastating for those workers not getting paychecks.
But hey...you got yours so...fuk em huh?

Conversations are only pointless when hardcore partisan ideologues are involved. This is politics, after all. Give and take. Or at least that USED to be the rule, when we were sane.

Pointless conversation, we've been through this before - Republicans just generally don't know how to give even an inch.
A Guide to S.744: Understanding the 2013 Senate Immigration Bill
Nevermind $5 Billion, Democrats were signing on for 40 billion dollar, comrehensive wiz-bang border security and visa-overstay reform - NOPE, not good enough to give on even a strict and narrow path to citizenship!
