What’s remarkable about this lie is that republicans and conservatives long ago abandoned due process and began an assault on individual liberty.
Conservatives seek to deny women their right to substantive due process by compelling them to give birth against their will through force of law, increasing the size and authority of government at the expense of individual liberty.
Conservatives seek to deny gay Americans their right to due process and equal protection of the law by prohibiting them from entering into marriage contracts.
Conservatives seek to deny immigrants their right to due process for no other reason than national origin.
Conservatives seek to deny transgender Americans their right to due process by seeking to disadvantage them through force of law for no other reason than who they are.
Conservatives seek to deny Muslim Americans their right to due process by advocating Muslims be forced to ‘register’ with the government for no other reason than being Muslim.
Most importantly, the measures advocated by democrats in no manner violate the Constitution or Second Amendment, as the Supreme Court has not ruled those measures to indeed be un-Constitutional, and the courts have upheld measures such as background checks to not violate the Second Amendment.
Moreover, the law authorizing background checks and the database that would be used to notify gun dealers that a potential buyer is on a terrorist watch list has provisions affording someone subject to a denial the right to appeal that denial, affording him full and comprehensive due process rights.
