DeSantis just had a citizen arrested for peacefully attempting to observe presser in a public building

I think DeSantis and his staff are paranoid.
The old man was there to get press coverage. He got it. DeSantis wouldn't have had a chance to respond to the old man had he been allowed to stay. He wasn't there to explain anything or have dialogue. He was there to raise hell at a Republican governor who has the spine to his ilk in their place.

You may be confusing a Town Hall type forum, where anyone can speak to a politician,
with this press only style meeting where a political operative tried to stage an event to
create a furor over nothing, really.
yeah ... after thinking on it maybe you are right .

He didn't need to be arrested.
He was trespassing and refusing to leave, at that point he was arrested. He was a peaceful protester and I admire that, he got his point across. Getting arrested as a peaceful protester happens and like in the late 60's and early 70's many went to jail for their beliefs. He is a man who earned respect.

If I remember, that guy has been removed before.

DeSantis said FL is a "Free State" Is it now?

he woudn't leave when asked, he was trepassing at that point. That's a crime, even in FL.

Sounds like the folks were really bending over backwards to try and help him understand, and be polite about it, but he didn't want to cooperate.

Given that he cooperated, I doubt he'll be looking at any sort of jail time over it though.
Cite the law.

He was NOT trespassing. It was a public space and a public event
It was a press conference and he didn't have press credentials. Are you claiming I could go to the White House walk in and demand I be let in to Biden's press conference?

He was NOT trespassing. It was a public space and a public event

"The purpose of an official press conference is for credentialed media to cover information from the governor’s office and state leaders that is important for the public to hear. Press conferences are not “private events,” because members of the press can RSVP and attend, and they broadcast the press conference to the public.

The protester detained by Jacksonville police for trespassing this morning is not a member of the press. Mr. Frazier is an activist who has disrupted official proceedings several times before, including a State Board of Education meeting and a City Council meeting that was forced to adjourn early due to his disruptive behavior."

Look you can't just barge into the governor's office or any public building space without permission, these idiots learned that the hard way.
Was this citizen in the governor's office? Or was he on public property?

You made a statement. Now you can justify it with facts.

Too bad the OP did such a shit job by providing no facts whatsoever with his establishing post.

Aren't moderators supposed to be policing such things?

Because....people can't just walk up and join in to a press conference for accredited journalists
in order to bring down DeSantis' image.

Would you let someone enter the White House and ask Senile Joe pointed questions during his
choreographed press events?

The answer is no, of course. A cheap political hit job.
So this is your underlying principle. Correct?
