That's where the big questions in the house begin:

Will the D majority be small enough that swing district Ds can be bribed into passing the president's agenda?

Will the Ds effectively become multiple parties?

Will Pelosi be able to control the fairly tiny, less than 10 seat, majority she is likely to get?

The senate at least looks out of reach for the Ds and with three times the number of seats to defend and mostly relatively weak seat control to boot R cloture is highly possible.

your opinion?

The status of the Senate cloture rules may be one of the most important issues affected by the upcoming elections. If the Dems control the House, there is no way they would agree to legislation passed by less than 60 Senate votes. In that event, the cloture issue would probably be put on indefinite hold.

If the GOP keeps the House (and Senate), all bets are off. At least I hope so.

The Ds taking the house is more probable but I doubt that they will win by more that the number of Ds from swing districts. While it is likely that the Rs will win cloture because Obama elected some dicey senators in 2012 the real news is that the Ds need to win something big enough to avoid Trump bribing his way to victory on key votes, which is probably not possible.

Nope the dem leadership was smart and defeated the open socialists. They're running people who act like right wingers (during the campaign) then vote for all the dem leftwing bullshit. Smart play on their part. But none of these people that won, ran on any leftwing ideas. It was republicans suck, and will take your social security....that's about it.

That's disappointing but I hope the cash wave from the far left will cause a swing to the left in the swing districts by the D nominees. The DNC is checking the sofas for campaign money without suicidal strings attached.

yeah the DNC is in bad shape.
I think in the midterms, it will be easier to make the case of who these people really are. Maybe Cortez will go on a bunch of shows the weeks leading up to the election.

I think the bigger problem for the Ds is that China is cracking under the pressure of four GDPs of debt, job flight to southeast Asia and a host of other problems. Whether that hits prior to the election is unknowable. But given that China is on the other side of the international dateline I'm not sure what the exact date of this week's massive riots that were dispersed by the massive use of riot police in Beijing chances are that the debt riots will get bigger fast. And there are other possible October surprises that could hurt the Ds.

The House will be forced to dedicate the next 2 years to impeaching Trump. That will be their only agenda till another Dim gets into the White House.

Enjoy America
