And apparently, you and your dimwitted compatriots seem to think that if his kids inherit his business and make it even bigger and more successful, they STILL haven't had any success or done fuck-all, because they built on an existing business, rather than starting their own from scratch.

Of the richest of the rich only 6.5% of income was from working, as of 2007. The rest came from things like interest, dividends, and capital gains.

In other words, the kind of income you get without having to wake up in the morning.

No, it's NOT "chicken/egg". Those people don't work for the government. They work for a private business, which happens to have several governments as its customers (I'd imagine they also have quite a few private customers who live outside the jurisdiction of the governments they contract with).

Who decides which trash collectors to use depends on whether the government has decided to arrogate that authority to itself or not. As I said, in many places trash collection doesn't go through the government at all, instead being paid for individually by the homeowners, or sometimes collectively through the homeowners' associations.

I also note in passing that many cities and counties that used to have government departments for trash collecting have since decided to go with paying private companies to do it instead. I wonder why that might be?
