Do you talk about politics outside of this forum?

Sure, I can smile and nod as they spew their propaganda and not say a word.

I can also talk respectfully when someone is capable of discussion.

So, then your persona on here is just something you do for the internet and are not like this in real life?

Unfortunately, we have mostly trolls out there on this sight.

They want nothing to do with actual respectful debate.

In fact, if you are a democrat like Kamala you spew Trump hate at your convention and hide all your policies from the public.

Do people talk about politics outside of a forum like this one?

Like in real life when you are with your friends or family.

We had dinner last night with 3 other couples at one of their houses and never once in 3 or so hours did anything to do with politics come up.

I golf with a very good friend whom I know supports Trump but we have never once talked about politics.

I cannot remember the last time I did outside of this forum.
I never discuss politics, it is far too volatile a subject. It is sad because as a young man I remember having really interesting discussions on politics. Those days are long gone.

Other boards-one other. I generally like to discuss history and such instead.
Real life? I will with the Wife. Occasionally with some other couples, but not more than a minute then one of us will want to change the subject to something better.
Otherwise no. if someone else is talking politics I tend to wander away.

Do you honestly believe you are any different?
Face to face opposing political conversations don’t usually last long…They don’t because even purple hairs know how foolish they sound when they state their positions in person.

What I say aloud in public with pride…
“I vote to protect and preserve American culture, values, principles and the moral order that made us great, I vote for aggressive immigration policy since we’ve always been better because we aren’t comprised of Mexico’s people, I vote for our Constitutional rights, I vote for lower taxes for America’s best citizens, I vote for law and order, I vote for reducing the scope and reach of government, I vote for low energy costs, I vote for a peace through strength position on the world stage, I vote against glamorizing abortion, I vote for protecting democracy with voter id laws and by keeping social media from colluding with government.”

What Libs won’t say aloud in public because they know they should be ashamed…
“I vote for LGBTQiA rights, I vote for CRT in classrooms, I vote for DEi in the workplace, I vote against sovereignty and for 10 million new illegals to invade, I vote for fewer gun rights and suppression of speech, I vote for $5 fuel, 19% inflation and 7.75% mortgage rates, I vote for higher taxes, I vote to defund the police, I vote to support terrorist groups like HAMAS. I vote for abortions because abortions are cool, something to be proud of, I vote for the google faggots and Mark Zuckerberg to steer our elections, I vote against voter id protections.”

And your fellow MAGA cult members keep claiming only the left if like this

Most people are probably worrie3d you are going to go Klebold/Harris on them if they dare to disagree with you.

You do not seem to be the most stable sort of person.

Rarely. Funny thing is the Liberal I last had a conversion with over politics owns way more guns than me (I don't own any) and was completely beside himself that Biden "forgave" student loan debt. He's also tired of the illegals in this country. This person sounded like a Republican sounding off but wouldn't vote "R" if his life depended on it. He's Kamala all they way. Go figure. Point is, no matter what facts you bring up for either side most people are set in their ways.

I only really hear political stuff at competitions, where the talker -usually a ranty old guy - seems to assume everyone agrees with him.

Yes. It' a topic that comes up frequently, especially this year.

How do you find out they are of like mind?

Out of the 3 other couples last night I have no clue how any of them view politics.

Recent example: Yesterday, I asked a sociable leftist neighbor with whom I have shared amicable infrequent conversations, sans politics, if she had heard about what is going on in our state of Oregon. She said she had not heard anything about this. She is an active political person with a keen interest in politics. I told her the news has been in most newsletters and national newspapers for many days. When I told her the news, she said, "oh, that will never happen." I told her gently that it IS happening. She then just ended the dialogue and said, "see ya later" and walked inside her apartment.

She is a factually uninformed white U.S.citizen who votes and she and I are each living in a socialist, heading towards communist state ( which I am trying to leave ).

Excerpt from article:

“Clients work closely with financial coaches and HUD-certified housing counselors throughout the entirety of the homebuying process. In addition to mortgage readiness and financial fitness workshops, we provide various opportunities for down-payment assistance,” according to the group.

Republican Oregon state Rep. Ed Diehl called the effort “state-sponsored discrimination” and noted that he is “appalled that the hard-earned, limited tax dollars of Oregonians are being used to prioritize home ownership for certain non-US citizens,” according to the Daily Caller.

Here in Mexifornia you don’t need to “hear” it…we see it everyday….Plenty of anxious, depressed, suicidal purple hair wackos wearing a mask outdoors walking around at 1pm on a Tuesday when all legit people are at work.

Do you live in Oregon?

Yes, did you miss this part of my response to you? "is going on in our state of Oregon."

I did miss that part, I apologize.

But you do make a good point, the few times I have talked politics outside of this forum it was almost always a state level issue
