Well, we already knew they hated Cruz. Like Trump's supporters, I consider that to be a plus. Unlike Trump, Cruz actually has a history of fighting the establishment for them to hate him over.

He's right. The GOPe has supported Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, even Kasich to a certain extent, and only turned to Cruz because he's all that's left. It's like when you're in high school and you date this guy who is awful. He, like, beats you. And calls you a slut. And he says you're a slut because you have sex with him every day. Then when you won't have sex with him he beats you for not being a slut. But then one day you finally break up with him, and he beats you again. Then you start dating some other guy, and he calls you a slut too. And he forces you to cut up his steak for him, but only lets you order a salad. But he doesn't beat you, so you think he's a nice guy because he doesn't beat you. But really, he's a major asshole too. You're just so used to be treated even worse you don't see he's an asshole too.

All the meanwhile there's this nice who is your friend. But you don't give him any love because you've friend zoned him.
