See, Lakota thinks it's funny to abuse, torture and kill women in order to get to the golden nugget that is their dead babies...

NaziCons are launching the same distorted, lying, vicious attacks against Planned Parenthood that they launched against ACORN. Then, by the time the low-information folks realize it was all smoke and mirrors - it will be too late. That's basically what happened to ACORN. NaziCon Republicans were still defunding ACORN even after it no longer existed.

The RWnuts want to defund the non-abortion part of PP as a punishment for their performing abortions.

What would prevent PP from moving their abortion funds toward providing women's health services if they lost federal funding?

Nothing would be stopping them. So why are they claiming defunding would kill women's health services? It wouldn't. THEY would be deciding to keep funding abortions and not moving the funds towards women health services.

This is what I mean when I say PP is choosing abortions over health services.

The RWnuts are try to take away legally legitimate government funding for services unrelated to abortion.

Most of PP's government funding comes via Medicaid.

Defunding Planned Parenthood defunds every service Planned Parenthood provides EXCEPT abortion.
Defund birth control and you end up with MORE abortions
I'm pro birth control. Big time pro birth control.

That's why I say take away PP's funding and give it to an organization which provides health services and no abortions.
Bullshit

You know Republicans will give it to an organization that advocates abstinence
would that bother you and why.
Because it is fucking stupid

Ask Bristol Palin

"With no way forward for the vote, some conservatives are pushing on congressional leaders to defund the organization at the end of September, when government funding is set to run out. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) employed a similar, albeit unsuccessful, tactic in hopes of defunding the Affordable Care Act."

Such is the reprehensible right, reckless, irresponsible republicans.
I hope they don't close them monuments again
It upsets the Republicans so

I get tired of Republicans whining and threatening to shut the government down when they don't get their way.
Why didn't the democrat controlled congress pass a budget then?

What Democrat-controlled Congress?

The one that lost their majority for being useless fuckwits

So you're not talking about the current Congress led by Republicans with an approval rating of 16%?

How Planned Parenthood actually uses its federal funding

The long-running calls for the federal government to cease all funding directed toward Planned Parenthood have once again come to the fore. This time, a congressional vote and debate took shape after an anti-abortion group secretly recorded a series of videos with the organization's medical officers and staff speaking dispassionately — some would say dismissively — about the work of extracting fetal tissue from aborted fetuses and and transferring it to research facilities.

And even though the defund Planned Parenthood fight on the Senate floor didn't move the needle — in terms of actual impacts on funding — it did bring to the fore some important facts about how much federal money goes to the group, and what it's used for.

So, here's what we know.

During the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2014, the most recent for which data is available, Planned Parenthood affiliates around the country received $528.4 million in government funds (a combination of state, federal and sometimes local government dollars), according to the organization's ownannual report and information it's required to share with the IRS.

Those federal dollars were the single largest source of money coming into the organization and its local affiliates, by far. Another $305.3 million came from nongovernment sources, about $257.4 million reached the organization after private donors and foundations made contributions and bequests. The organization also raised another $54.7 million in fees charged for its services. So, government funding — with federal dollars comprising the biggest portion of this part of the organization's budget — are absolutely critical to Planned Parenthood's total operation.

But, it's important to note that federal dollars are not used to provide the service at the center of the political debate around Planned Parenthood: abortions. That's been banned by law in almost all cases since 1976. (The details of the ban have shifted over time.) Instead, the organization uses money from other sources — private donors and foundations as well as fees — to fund its abortion services.

All told, abortions comprise about 3 percent of all the services Planned Parenthood provides, according to the organization's own data. (In 2011,FactCheck.org also examined this question and found the organization's reports to be accurate) The rest of the organization's revenue, including government dollars, are used to fund services in a way that breaks down like this:

imrs.php

So, while it's true that the Planned Parenthood's political opponents would quite likely strike a major blow to the organization if it was stripped of all federal dollars, it's far less likely that such a change would significantly reduce the number of abortions the agency's doctors perform each year or how those procedures contribute to the total number of pregnancies terminated in the United States.

WASHINGTON -- Real estate mogul Donald Trump supports shutting down the government as a way to defund Planned Parenthood, potentially setting the bar for the rest of his fellow GOP presidential candidates currently trailing him in the polls by a large margin.

Senate Democrats voted Monday to block a bill that would have stripped federal funds from the nation’s largest family planning provider. The GOP-backed effort was prompted by a series of edited undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing the donation of fetal tissue after abortions for scientific research.

With no way forward for the vote, some conservatives are pushing on congressional leaders to defund the organization at the end of September, when government funding is set to run out. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) employed a similar, albeit unsuccessful, tactic in hopes of defunding the Affordable Care Act.

In a Tuesday interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump credited Cruz for his efforts, and signaled that Republicans ought to follow his lead on Planned Parenthood.

"If the Republicans stuck together you could have done it with Obamacare also, but the Republicans decided not to stick together and they left a few people out there like Ted Cruz," he said in the interview. "You know, they left a lot of the people who really went in and wanted to do the job and you know what? If they had stuck together they would have won that battle. I think you have to in this case also, yes."

Many Senate Republicans, including then Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), opposed Cruz's tactics. The resulting 16-day government shutdown in 2013 ultimately hurt Republicans in the polls and failed to extract concessions from Democrats.

The Republican war on women's rights is ugly. Trump used to be pro-choice. I do not think this is a winner for the GOP. It certainly isn't a winner for women.

You know all these last 6 years the Republicans have done all this school yard whiny I'm taking my football and not playing with you shit like they own the joint. Guess what is going to happen if a Republican is elected president and the Democrats only control the Senate. They are going to do exactly what the Republicans have done the last 6 years. Block everything and allow nothing.

Oh, payback is a bitch.

Of course then it will be nonstop from Faux Fake News and cons everywhere, "the Democrats are keeping government from working blah blah blah."

See cons, this is what you get when you decide that democracy is not for you and you aren't going to participate. Now eat that shit up.

Federal dollars are not used to fund Planned Parenthood abortions!

So why are NaziCons trying to defund Planned Parenthood?
So it shouldnt freaking matter of the funding stops. obamacare will provide the services that PP claims to need the funding for. Why should the taxpayer have to cover obamacare and a redundant program like PP?
PP can still mutilate babies for fun and entertainment.

Logical solution would be for them to totally separate abortion clinics from the rest and have no co-mingling of funds between the two. Different buildings, doctors electric bills etc..

So its logical to duplicate Capital expenditures , Real Estate expenses and staff expenses in order to please the folks :

"Pounding their bibles and relying on purely misleading and highly edited junk videos, far right anti-abortion activists, their elected congressional sycophants and whatever billionaires responsible for funding the series of sneak-videos, came up on the short end of a test vote to pull around $500 million from PPFA clinics throughout the nation, and by extension, the world."

as Spock would say "highly Illogical"

Let Ty Slothrop break it down...

The videos are purely an appeal to emotion not cognition....That kind of material is called "propaganda"....One of the aims of propaganda is to make dissent from what the propagandists are pushing seem totally and grossly Immoral.....this is what those videos are for ...to make you stop thinking and start emoting and start "hating on the monsters" who do not fall for the Propaganda

and now with the liberals obamacare, there is no reason that any woman cant get professional help at any doctors office. Isnt that what the public was sold? The need to fund PP is no longer there.
