Yet, only a few years after his passing, they were quoting Old Testament abomination ( tribal ) laws as the will of god. The NWT didn't eliminate info on sins of the OT. The new covenant Jesus brought eliminated some of the Mosaic laws--Like there is no more stoning one to death. One would go up for murder if they did it.
They did correct the error found in trinity translations at John 1:1, and in the Hebrew OT there is no-i am that i am, i will be what i will be is the correct translation of that statement according to Hebrew scholars. Many other errors were fixed as well.
