I put confessed in quotes since this psychopath knew he would lose at trial and hoped the video would get him some sympathy. He may also think that when he gets out of prison, he can become an anti-dui spokeman and make some green. Hell with him. Shoulda been locked up for life.

Judge sentences man who confessed to DUI on YouTube

October 23, 2013

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man was sentenced Wednesday to 6½ years in prison for causing a fatal wrong-way crash after a night of heavy drinking, which he had confessed to in an online video.

Matthew Cordle, 22, had faced up to 8½ years in prison. Franklin County Judge David Fais sentenced Cordle to six years for aggravated vehicular homicide and six months for driving under the influence of alcohol. He also revoked his driving privileges for life as required by state law.

"I drank so much I was blacked out," Cordle said at the Sept. 18 hearing where he pleaded guilty.

Article says he his license was PERMANENTLY revoked as required by ohio law. Does that mean this monster can just move to indiana and drive all he wants?

He should have confessed! A confession on You Tube is not the same thing as confession in court. When he got to court, he plead not guilty.

No. His driver's license was revoked according to Ohio law, under the Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution, his license is permanently revoked everywhere.

Amazing the double standard we have on gun deaths versus car deaths. To lose your right to have a gun all you have to do is commit a felony no matter now minor. No requirement that you kill or even harm anyone! A victimless felony like pot possession and no guns for you forever.

He plead guilty in court, and instructed his lawyers not to try to change his plea. He only allowed them to (unsuccessfully) try for a lower sentence.

Fair sentence.

Criminal coddling. The laws should be changed so that highway killers get life in the can.

This was no "accident". He was drunk out of his skull. Nearly all so called accidents are due to criminal driving of some sort.

Judge Livid As YouTube Confessor Pleads Not Guilty To DUI | Video - ABC News

Watch the judge go livid.

That was the arraignment hearing. When it got to trial judge, David Fais, he plead guilty.

Cordle's guilty plea last month came just a week after he was indicted in a speedy process absent of the numerous court filings that usually cause such cases to drag on for weeks or months.
