Economy adds 175,000 jobs

Nonsense. We are the most indebted nation in the history of the world. If we continue on this path, the end will be Very Ugly Indeed. It's pathetic that you aren't concerned about looming insolvency.

This is the only economic recovery effort in history where we tried to balance the budget at the same time

You can't insist on massive budget cuts and then complain that the economy is not booming

Only a LOLberal would believe government is the cause of economic boom. :lmao:

The economic ineptitude is deafening.

You are a loon. We haven't balanced the budget at all. There has been NO BUDGET PASSED during Obama's entire time in office. Spending last year was over $550B more than in 2008. And it's forecasted to be another $150B higher this year.

When you're talking about the "massive budget cuts", are you talking about the decrease in the increase of the budget?????????????
Because with your "massive budget cuts", we still are spending more than last year......tool.

I love posting these threads and watching the "Economy must Fail" crowd come out of the woodwork

 ...which doesn't address the validity of what I said one iota.

OK.....for the Economy must Fail crowd

Are the employment numbrs better than last month?
Are they better than last year?
Are they better than five years ago?

A school child received a score of 21% on a test and took it again and received 23%.
Would you call that second test a success?

moron

This is better than recent reports, but less than half the net job creation we would have had in a Real Recovery.

180K+ are reentrants to the labor force (after having given up looking - the UI must be runninzg out)...the jobs aren't enough to keep up with them and population growth.

Congress is holding back a real recovery

Sure, how many bills did they send over to harry?

The labor force participation rate was little changed at 63.4 percent. Over the year, the labor force participation rate has declined by 0.4 percentage point. The employment-population ratio was unchanged in May at 58.6 percent and has shown little movement, on net, over the past year.

IOW, we're barely treading water.

That is not true. There was actual spending cut that is unprecedented in over 60 years.

Wonder how many of those jobs are part-time??

I doubt anyone is hiring full time. Not with that trainwreck Obamacare rolling down the tracks.

In a friend of mines fiance works for O'Reilly's and according to him they will be cutting all workers to 25 hours a week. Yep. The ACA is gonna be grand.

UE at 7.5% isn't much to crow about though it is better than 8%.

U.S. adds 175,000 jobs; jobless rate moves up

Employers added a better-than-expected 175,000 jobs in May, providing further evidence of a resilient labor market despite huge federal spending cuts and global economic turmoil.

The unemployment rate rose to 7.6% from 7.5%, the Labor Department said Friday, as 420,000 Americans, including previously discouraged workers who had given up job-hunting, joined the labor force. The labor force includes people working and looking for work.

Businesses added 178,000 jobs, while federal, state and local governments cut 3,000. Professional and business services, leisure and hospitality and retail led job gains.

Example: Turd polishing.
Level: Expert.

"In May, the number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers) was unchanged at 7.9 million. These individuals were working part time because their hours had been cut back or because they were unable to find a full-time job."

2012 spending = $3.537 trillion
2013 spending = $3.685 trillion

The OMB estimates the Federal government will spend $3.685 trillion by the end of FY 2013.
