How effective is our political name calling? Posts on these boards are latent with labels on politicians, political parties, political acts and so on, but do they work, do they change people's minds, does name-calling gain votes?
In one American campaign a politician running for office was called, just to name a few of the names: a monster, a frustrated darling, a Fuhrer, a nitwit, an impostor, drug addict, insane, weak minded, had an Oedipus complex, heart trouble, a Svengali, a communist, a fascist, a socialist, an embezzler, a callow upstart, an embezzler, shallow. Did those numerous names work?
The politician was elected with one of the greatest electoral majorities in American politics.
Are there any mind-changing names that are effective or is the whole name-calling thing a waste?
