I assure you 90% of Americans are thankful that the insurrection was failed. Unfortunately America has a lot of malcontents and they are the ones who attempted to overthrow the government. Yes it was relatively tame by insurrection standards but that doesn't change its status. They attempted to change legal election results that is an insurrection. They threatened lives. They were smart not to bring actual weapons but to utilize things at hand and have the real weapons outside to bring in if necessary and appropriate. Had the police begun firing upon them no doubt those weapons would have been brought into play. You see the people who plan this were very devious. Not very smart but devious.If that was an insurrection it was the most bloodless insurrection in world history.
It was a protest that turned into a riot with only a few participants who actually committed any serious crimes that day, all of whom are getting the punishment they deserve along with quite a few others that are getting far worse punishment than they deserve.

Lowering the bar in such a manner for political game as Biden has done just lowers the bar next time a republican wins the WH and democrats protest violently to voice their displeasure with the vote.
