Under Trump, America's religious right is rewriting its code of ethics - From scorning immigrants to accepting the president’s profanity, evangelicals are proving just how flexible their values can be;

1. Lying is all right as long as it serves a higher purpose
2. It’s no problem to be married more than, well, twice
3. Immigrants are scum
4. Vulgarity is a sign of strength and resolve
5. White lives matter (much more than others)
6. There’s no harm in spending time with porn stars
8. It’s all right for adults to date children
9. The ends justify the means

Ignorant entertainers deal in steriotypes and they love to put people in neat little categories so they can react emotionally without having to think much. What is it with (mostly) Brits that view American "evangelicals" as some monolith quirky "Puritan" 16th century sect? American Evangelicals want what everyone else wants including a political party that believes in Constitutional law, low taxes, strong borders and a thriving economy.

Given the objective evil of today's American Left, the bar is not terribly high on being worthy of Evangelical support.

Perhaps they are basing their support on what Trump DOES, rather than what he says or "tweets." Again, on that basis, Evangelical support of Trump is very understandable.

Just because he wouldn't be a very good Sunday School Teacher or "role model," doesn't mean he can't be a GREAT President - which he manifestly is.

The one sin they see as being unforgivable is gay sex. We all know it.

The evangelical cult has no interest in politics save what their tool tump can do for them. They fervently believe that we are in the "End Times", Evangelical Christians overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump because they believe he'll cause the world to end. Politics for them is an avenue where they can get rid of abortion, homosexuality, social programs, etc, which increases their worth with this god of theirs.

Naturally, there are a wide range of reasons why people support Trump, and so it is with Evangelicals. But really, the main root of their support stems from the abortion issue. It's really not that hard. Evangelicals view the unborn as human beings, and as such, taking their life is murder.

Not to downplay Mrs. Clinton's role is pledging her Fealty to the big abortion lobby- a bigger reason for President Trump's appeal to evangelicals is that he respects them.

Where Mrs. Clinton condemned evangelicals as the scum of the earth , the Basket of Deplorables clinging to the holy bibles and firearms, it didn't help her to get many evangelical votes.

OTOH, President Trump travels to flyover country constantly, calling them the salt of the earth that keeps America working.

One would think that a limo riding city slicking billionaire would know less about the common man than the long time First Lady of Arkansas, but you'd be wrong.
