We are seeing how Russian military tactics work up against our military gear.

As it turns out, Russia's military tactics totally suck. And that is what really hurts MTG's and Putin's feelings.

Its a fair bit more than that. The Ukraine isn't Putin's goal. Its Lithuania, Poland, Latvia and Romania. All NATO allies.

Russia conventional military response has been so spectacularly pathetic, that the US and her allies could sweep away their tanks, planes and troops with comic ease. It would be embarrassing how easily it could be done.

Putin's not grotesquely stupid. He sees how inept and ineffective his conventional military is. If NATO and Russia went head to head, the conventional war would be so one sided that nukes would be the only way to level the field.

And faced with a perceived existential threat of Russia's conventional military routed and NATO troops having the capcity to run their tanks directly into the Russian Heartland, the US and her allies are deeply concerned that Russia would actually do it.

Which is why they're investing so heavily in Ukraine. If Russia is stopped in Ukraine, the direct conflict between the NATO and Russia doesn't happen. Russia fights in a 'buffer state' .....grinding its military against the millstone of NATO weapons but not NATO troops.

We are actively trying to prevent nuclear war by keeping the conflict in Ukraine.
