I am not seeing a problem here.
The filibuster was invented to keep the majority party from steamrolling the minority.
Its other purpose is to force compromise between the parties.
And please. The democrats misused the filibuster in direct violation of Senate rules in an attempt to block three Bush SCOTUS nominees. Additionally democrats used the filibuster to block 11 other Bush nominees to the Federal bench...
