It's been my personal experience that it has less to do with making more money and more to do with just surviving. Once your competitor moves overseas, many have no choice but to do the same. It's either that or lose most of your customers because you can't compete price-wise with the company that did move overseas.

There are tons of higher paying jobs that go unfilled because firms cannot find qualified individuals to fill them.
