FEMA staying at 5-star hotels in Maui

Yeah, poor optics but they stay in what digs they can find. I suspect the locals got all the affordable digs before FEMA even got there.

That was the way it was after Katrina when my wife deployed there. The closest they could get was 50-odd miles away and they tripled-up on rooms at first.

Another thing is that renting those rooms also helps the local economy. Same with the meal vouchers they get, they buy food from the local establishments.

Well i'm sure the high ranking officials are. That's how it always is with government. The top brass in the u s military all fly on private jets. And stay In fancy hotels when they travel. And it's all paid for by taxes.

LOL...."High ranking" folks don't even deploy for the most part. Usually they fly in and back out to the DC HQ.

In this thread we discover who knows shit-all about FEMA deployments to disaster areas. :laughing0301:

But I'm here to help. ;)

Your tax dollars hard at work.

U.S. government bureaucrats dispatched to the Maui disaster zone are shacked up in $1,000-a-night luxury hotels on the Hawaiian island,

The beachside resorts are popular among the rich and famous and located about a 45-minute drive away from the fire-ravaged town of Lahaina.

Don’t be silly, our overlords shouldn’t be expected to shelter in any but the best.

They say the cadaver dogs need the aroma therapy and the 4-hand massages with a happy ending. Briben liked to jack off his german shepherd until the dog said enough is enough and broke his foot.

There's some credible allegations that these satanic FEMA fucks were caught burying some of the 1050 missing children in a mass grave. Ripping off the taxpayer for millions is bad enough, but fucking with the bodies of dead children is a whole 'nother smoke.

Good job blue Hawaii! You're getting exactly what you voted for! Fucking enjoy!

What a hot steaming turd of a post. Vile, tasteless
Dragon just explained it's necessary so they're AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the scene of extinguished fires.

Meanwhile, she suggests Trump's secret service must be AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE from the guy they're protecting, Donald Trump.

:abgg2q.jpg:

You have a REAL reading comprehension problem. I just explained that you didn't care how much money taxpayer money Trump wasted going golfing every weekend, fleecing taxpayers for every dollar he could get, and crickets from you clowns. The Secret Service had to get a budget increase to cover all increased costs of protecting Trump, millions of which went into Trump's own pockets through overcharging for hotel rooms for his detail.

Trump even billed the taxpayers for rooms at his resorts during covid lockdowns, when the clubs were closed and they couldn't use the rooms.

But you're having small hairy kittens because other civil servants are staying in whatever hotels are available in the crisis.

You have no room to bitch whine about what others spend accommodations.

Another fool who refers to politicians as "overlords" demonstrating his inferiority to those who lead you.

"Elites", "rulers", "overlords". The Trump Cult is really ready, willing and eager to abase themselves to their cult leaders, and do their bidding. Of course that way they don't have to think for themselves, or take responsibility for their lives.

The Trump Cult wants to turn the USA into a feudal society, where workers serve the elite classes and maintain them in comfort and wealth, giving all of their work to the lords, and getting little in returnn.

Trump is a businessman who runs hotels. The Secret Service could stay elsewhere if they wanted to.
More Dimtard logic.

"Dimtard logic" is at least an admission that Democrats apply logic and thinking, which is something you lot are incapable of doing.

No they can't. They're assigned to stay with the President. Why didn't you complain about the costs? The overcharging? The conflict of interest??

You can't crawl up the ass of every dollar government workers spend after the billions of dollars that disappeared from the public treasury while Trump was President. Next we'll question what happened to the billions missing from the PPP loans that Trump and Mulvaney controlled and refused to provide an accounting for.

Your trailer park ignorance is always amusing. You get wound up like a little puppy with a head injury and then never actually make a point except to apologize for the stuttering fuck and its crime family.

Keep yapping.... nobody listens.

First Biden completely insults the poor victims of Maui, then other government employees kicks them in the nuts as a followup. America used to be a good nation. What happened?

Did you object to taxpayer dollars going to keep the Secret Service in Trump Resort rooms every weekend the Oresident went golfing?

Unlike Donald Trump, who didn’t even given the government a discount on the rooms and charged full rack rate, I’m betting the Maui Hotels are giving the government a good price because otherwise these rooms would be empty. People aren’t exactly flocking to Maui hotels at the moment.

From my other posters, here have said, these hotels are the closest ones to the disaster area so it does make sense for FEMA workers to be staying as close AS possible to the scene of fires.
You idiots are better at deflection than anything else. Fake news is your second best talent.

See, now this would be a case where there should be loud public outcry. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. The thing is...you guys have put so much chum into the water about completely menial BS that nobody really cares when there is actual malfeasance.

This appears to be actual malfeasance. We should keep in mind that the conditions and availability of the "scores" of cheaper hotels are not fleshed out. I would think that residents and press are taking much of those if they are in livable condition. Its also rather dubious that the allegations are that over 1,000 employees are being put up into these hotels at resorts. Perhaps its different in different properties but it would be strange that there are over a thousand $1,000+ night rooms available (if there are that many to start with). What is likely happening is that there are multiple staffers staying in each of the rooms.

Regardless; something like this should be investigated.
They work for that Asshole In Chief. You know ... the one that took two weeks to get around to addressing that little, insignificant issue in Hawaii, then reminisced about that time he almost lost his Corvette.

If the FEMA leaders aren't in the field doing their true civic duty, then they should be fired without a severance package.

The secret service has never had budget problems. When I was EOD in the early seventies, the Soviet Foreign Minister visited San Francisco and I was one of the techs detailed to support the SS. They rented not only the entire floor of the Mark Hopkins hotel that he was staying at, but the entire floor above and below it as well. Rather than returning to the Presidio where we were stationed, ten minutes away, the SS told us to pick rooms and charge all the room service we wanted to their budget.

And what exactly do you think FEMA leaders do? You think they should be out sweeping up ashes?

What happens after a disaster like this requires huge amounts of paperwork and work to get the people what they need.
