First day of school and pledge of allegiance

It is funny how those that care about GOD are the biggest assholes to people of color, refugees. Homeless, muslims etc....didnt your God teach you to be kind, accepting, humble and most importantly not to back an pussy grabber and a cheater ?

God has no issue with people holding people accountable regardless of their color or religion and that includes obeying sovereign laws of a Nation. God said nothing about relying on the Government or Government mandates to take care of the poor.... God holds us accountable to do that directly. If we question or refuse the Government, where does God have a problem with that? Regarding pussy grabbing and cheating, God said hate the sin, not the sinner.

Your tactics reek of stale Alinsky bread of trying to hold other people to their rules yet have no intention of following those rules or any morals or standards yourself.

First day of school in Maryland. 4th period, each class, the school determines for the recitation for the Pledge of Allegiance. My 11th grade son is in is assigned class. He is the only one to stand up and recite. One of the slackers turns and says, “are we still doing this?”

I’d like to thank the Armed Forces, past and present, who made it possible for these malcontents and ingrates (and their parents and families) to sit idle during the Pledge of Allegiance. To the appeasing Big Education..... Go Fuck Yourself.

Okay from a conservative public school teacher:

please note that the school still has this in place. IOW the district itself is still condoning this. We do the pledge in my elem. school as well.

However, we are unable to tell individual students that they MUST stand and recite, and if you examine the issue I'm sure you'd agree that this is correct. I don't agree with that decision--I wish they WOULD--but we can't make them.

Also parents you have a lot, and I mean a LOT, more influence over the schools than you know. If you don't like that your son is the only one doing this, call the school or stop in and voice your concern. Ask what can be done. When teachers voice concern--meh. When PARENTS do, it's a different matter. Truth.

It is a pledge

If it has to be repeated every day, it is not much of a pledge
Repetition is necessary to make sure propaganda is securely lodged in young minds.

Good point. No one should be forced to recite the Pledge. I think students should be educated as to why we do it and maybe at least stand out of reverence and respect but not being forced to recite. Should my son get any attacks or intimidation by his classmates for doing so, you can bet “concerns” will be voiced.

The original Bellamy salute, first described in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, who authored the original Pledge, began with a military salute, and after reciting the words "to the flag," the arm was extended toward the flag.

At a signal from the Principal the pupils, in ordered ranks, hands to the side, face the Flag. Another signal is given; every pupil gives the flag the military salute — right hand lifted, palm downward, to a line with the forehead and close to it. Standing thus, all repeat together, slowly, "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all." At the words, "to my Flag," the right hand is extended gracefully, palm upward, toward the Flag, and remains in this gesture till the end of the affirmation; whereupon all hands immediately drop to the side.

Shortly thereafter, the pledge was begun with the right hand over the heart, and after reciting "to the Flag," the arm was extended toward the Flag, palm-down.

In World War II, the salute too much resembled the Nazi salute, so it was changed to keep the right hand over the heart throughout.
The Pledge of Allegiance

This is interesting, uniformed troops should not recite the pledge. I suppose it might incite mutiny.

Section 4 of the Flag Code states:

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute."

The Pledge of Allegiance

Why are you posting this here? It’s the schools that need it.

Really? Did you already know The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.

Its the test for when times are not so good.

Big education? LOL

So pledging allegience to the US flag is now propaganda to the left? What is it with you people?
To the left? To everyone I would have thought, propaganda fer shure. How could those kids possibly understand the implications of their words? They are being brainwashed by repetition.

It is a pledge

If it has to be repeated every day, it is not much of a pledge

It’s teaching students gratitude and personal accountability. What in God’s name is wrong with that and injecting Nationalism among all the students?
Then it is not a pledge

Hold a ceremony where students voluntarily and sincerely make a pledge.

I pledge allegiance to the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands. One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

so is your allegiance to god or the USA?

a pledge of allegiance to the US should not include ANY religious reference

I pledge friendship to the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands. One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Sorry; have to change it a tad.
