First time I put a product back on the shelf

My wife have started shopping at LIDLs.

Aldi's is the only discount food place here; they like to set up near Walmart's. They don't carry name brands or a huge variety, though, but can be as much as 60% cheaper than Wally World, and of course Kroger's and Albertson's are only good for certain sales days on limited products. As most people should know, you pay a premium for 'name brands', since they have large advertising expenses, but most canned goods are canned at the same places, bread, etc, made at the same places, cereal, etc., all they do is change the labels and boxes. Most restaurant food is microwaved packaged frozen meals anyway as well, not freshly cooked, no better than fast food.

And the prices at McDonalds is also through the roof. $11-$13 for their quarter pound meals is ridiculous.
I went through McDonald's last weekend when we were traveling. For me to get a chicken sandwich and drink, my wife had a mocha frappe, my grandsons had a chicken McNugget meal and Quarter Pounder meal.

The bill? $28.00!

You guys must live in shit holes, in the last couple month the only thing I have not been able to find is Bai for the wife.

I suspect it has to do with the degree of compliance with the NYS mandates. Westchester County is all in on masks even when you're alone in your car miles from civilization. My sister's county, and neighboring counties, treated the mandate like Piero Capponi treated the King of France. Maybe they're being punished for their defiance?

I live 8 minutes from the Clintons, so maybe it is a shithole

You also have to watch the here-today-gone-tomorrow items at Aldi and buy accordingly.

I'm a fan of spinach fettuccine, and they had a big supply in the "get it now" section, so I bought myself a significant stash.

It does sound terrible.

Yes. Their fresh food section is adequate enough, especially their prices on fresh fruits.

Illegals are taking jobs away from US citizens.
That's a part of how the capitalist system works my friend. The employer is given the right to choose and he/she chooses others than Americans. The reasons why should be discussed and understood.

There are ways to interfere with the working of a capitalist system. I can offer two possibles.

1. Unions can place demands on employers that cancel out the employer's incentive to hire immigrants. Ability to work being assumed to be equal by Americans and immigrants, union rates and benefits takes away any remaining incentive from an employer.

2. Social restrictions on the employer's hiring practices. There are a wide range of possibilities, beginning with government enacting laws to prevent the hiring of illegals. These social restrictions on employers don't necessarily be an acceptance of socialism, they can be no more than 'social' restrictions placed on employers. Can you think of more under this category.

3. Can any Americans think of more ways to solve the problem. (keeping in mind that foreigners working in America is necessary for filling jobs that Americans won't fill, due mostly to very low wages being offered.)

Unions has been destroyed due to trespassers being used by the monied interets.
That's why I don't understand why Democrats don't boycott voting for either party.

Yes, that's how capitalism is supposed to work. Why would an employer be concerned in the least about unions being destroyed? In fact, I would argue that was their intended agenda. How strange that you would speak out in favour of unions!!

That doesn't make sense and the reason for it is that you are left with no talking points. You could have tried a little harder on #3. I didn't exhaust all the possibilities,

For instance, we didn't even start to explore the many ways that America's greedy form of capitalism can and must be adjusted to suit the world's countries' competition.
Trust me, employers have no conscience and never have. Within a capitalist system, nobody should expect employers to contribute to fixing the problem.

We don't in Canada, we instead turn to government for social limitations on employers.

What’s wrong with Unions.
Wall Street works as a Union.

There is nothing wrong with unions in the generic sense. There is 'something' wrong with corrupt unions.
But more to the point, there is nothing wrong with my country's capitalist system. It differs in some very important ways from America's.

In a nutshell, socially responsible limitations.

It's time now to demonstrate that you have an interest in this discussion. I'm not interested in any more 'garden paths' with any of you. There are easy answers available that even Trump would be onside with. Albeit only voiced, but lacking sincerity.

The wages are low because illegal aliens keep them low.

Get rid of the illegal aliens and the wages go up.

Duh.
