Florida Senate, on a 23-16 vote, just passed legislation ending Disney’s tax privilege, self-governing power & special exemption status

LOL wait until Florida has to start paying for all the Disney infrastructure. They will rue the day they went down this road. That is why they did this to begin with---to avoid those costs by making Disney pay them out of pocket themselves.

Sometimes standing up for what's right is more important than money. Money is great, but it doesn't mean it's more important than morals.

Besides, Florida now will make money off the permits Disney has to buy among other things.

Where did they say it isn’t allowed, Halfwit? Disney is free to criticize anything they want to. Actions have consequences, especially in politics.

Disney should stick to what they do and not push teaching sex to kindergartners.

Once again you are lying. They are free to speak out, Moron.

From the sponsor of the bill...notice the reason for the bill.

Fine said that the bill gives Disney more than a year to reorganize the district and to rethink its criticism of Florida laws.

Yup. Desantis is an authoritarian twat to his core.

That's not going to happen.
In the end, it's a business decision. And the on park is not a major factor in the overall profit. Lower the profit of the park enough, make it harder for the park to be nimble in changing what it does, and all of a sudden it becomes a liability.

And it is still possible that Disney looks at the bottom line and decides they can make that money elsewhere and close the park, cratering Central Florida's economy.

It would be great to see this happen, but too much time and money invested there to leave.

So when there is a crime or a fire on the property, who responds? Not Disney, because they are no longer allowed to hire cops and a fire department.
They never hired cops. Have you ever been to Disney world? It's the county sheriff deputies on the property.

I don't want jack shit. If it was up to me I would kick the assholes out of the state.

Central Florida was a paradise before the Disney shitheads moved in and ruined everything.

Orlando use to be a great little Conservative town until Disney moved in. Now it is crowded, high crime, bad traffic and becoming the typical Democrat big city shithole.

Florida did well with being a mainly agriculture state. We don't need or want the goddamn tourists and all the destruction that comes with it.

If they got rid of the tourist they would have to put in a state income tax

Then perhaps Disney will simply have to shut down that area.

Those Democrats in Orlando and Orange County will get every penny they can out of Disney.

Disney screwed up big time trying to impose Hollywood values on DeSantis.

Disney isn't even close to that, this is a blip in time. It's a hot topic now, but that will blow over
Central Florida has to be a mecca for the theme park for optimum business.

That would be so awesome to see. Just ticket sales alone brings in over 400 million to Florida each year. It is estimated that 400,000 jobs and $75 billion annual economic impact comes from Disney.

How would the state budget do without that in its coffers?
