Freed Terrorist Killed American Citizen, US 'Concerned'

Crock of crap, Rocco. Israel was ethnic cleansing Palestinians from their homes outside of the proposed borders before any Arab army entered Palestine. It had nothing to do with the 1948 war. It was Israels agenda to take all of Palestine. Israel had no intention of abiding by resolution 181.

Are you saying that it is criminal for the Palestinians to defend themselves?

Copy/paste the part of the UN Charter that says that.

Also the part that says that the UN has the authority to take land from one people and give it to another.

I thought the propaganda states that the Arab states attacked Israel.

Anyway, Jordan was the Uncle Tom during this period. Jordan was promised $3M a year for five years and the West Bank if it did not attack Israel. Jordan fought against the creation of a Palestinian state because it did not want to lose the West Bank.

Here again, Israel was ethnic cleansing Palestinians from Jerusalem before Jordan entered Palestine.

Crock of crap. Israel only wanted their own state, and gracefully accepted the resolution. The Jews did not want a war, but the Arabs brought one. Fist it was the 47-48 civil war, instigated by the Palestinian Arabs (what you call defending themselves, which of course is Arab propaganda),then it was the 1948 Arab - Israeli war, instigated by the Arabs who invaded with the intention destroying the newly created state.
There's nothing graceful about Political Zionism and its oft-stated goal of creating a Jewish state somewhere in the world. There is a great deal that's deceitful about the lies Zionism told to further that cause in Palestine; from "a land without a people for a people without a land" to their "acceptance" of a morally questionable UN partition plan that gave one-third of Palestinians 55% of Palestine.

During its "War of Independence", half of the 750,000 Arabs evicted from their homes were expelled prior to any Arab army's arrival on the scene.

Western observers like the UN's appointed mediator in Palestine, Count Folke Bernadotte, who protested the ethnic cleansing of Arabs were murdered by those you claim "did not want a war." In fact, Zionists had long admitted war was the only way to colonize Palestine.

"After the war, Bernadotte was unanimously chosen to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab–Israeli conflict of 1947–1948. He was assassinated in Jerusalem in 1948 by the militant Zionist group Lehi while pursuing his official duties. The decision to assassinate him had been taken by Natan Yellin-Mor, Yisrael Eldad and Yitzhak Shamir, who later became Prime Minister of Israel."

Prove that Israel kicked out 750 000 Palestinians

I would suggest that you get over it, GeorgieBoy. After 2,000 years of expulsions, blood libels, inquisitions, pogroms, ghettos and the Holocaust, the Jews wanted a land of their own, even if it wasn't their ancestral homeland. They're not giving it up to a people that already has 22 oil-rich countries.
I'll get over it when you admit Palestinians played no role in those "2000 years of expulsions, blood libels, inquisitions, pogroms, ghettos and the Holocaust." You might also consider the question of WHY some Jews engage in behavior over thousands of years that result in millions of innocent Jews being subjected to such repeated abuse?

Might be safer than a one-way taxi trip in Jerusalem:

"Bernadotte was assassinated on Friday 17 September 1948 by members of the Jewish terrorist Zionist group Lehi (commonly known as the Stern Gang or Stern Group)..."

"A three man 'center' of this extreme Jewish group had approved the killing: Yitzhak Yezernitsky (the future Prime Minister of Israel Yitzhak Shamir), Nathan Friedmann (also called Natan Yellin-Mor) and Yisrael Eldad (also known as Scheib)..."

Your kind of killer Jews?

"A four-man team ambushed Bernadotte's motorcade in Jerusalem's Katamon neighborhood. Two of them, Yitzhak Ben Moshe (Markovitz) and Avraham Steinberg, shot at the tires of the UN vehicles. A third, Yehoshua Cohen, opened the door of Bernadotte's car and shot him at close range."

Does that strike you as chicken-shit or kick ass?

Israel’s decision to release terrorist prisoners as a “gesture” to the Palestinian Authority led some Israeli MKs to criticized the United States for allegedly pushing the release. MK Ayelet Shaked (Bayit Yehudi) even wrote a strongly critical letter to Secretary of State John Kerry in which she accused him of “forcing Israel to capitulate to terrorism.”

However, it appears that U.S. actually opposed the prisoner release in at least one case.

According to The Daily Beast, the U.S. State Department expressed concern over the release of Al-Haaj Othman Amar Mustafa – but Israel decided to free him anyway.

Mustafa murdered Frederick Steven Rosenfeld, who was a U.S. citizen and a former U.S. Marine.

He and other attackers ambushed Rosenfeld, attacking him from behind after pretending to befriend him as he walked near his home in the town of Ariel, in Samaria (Shomron), in 1989. The three stabbed Rosenfeld and left him to die.

A State Department spokesperson told The Daily Beast, “The State Department conveyed the administration’s concerns regarding the release of this prisoner to the government of Israel, while recognizing the victim was a dual national of Israel and the United States.”

I know you don't!

You didn't care when Israeli commando's summarily executed a US citizen on the Mavi Mamara, which was bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Gaza flotilla activists were shot in head at close range

A 19-year-old, named as Fulkan Dogan, who also has US citizenship, was shot five times from less that 45cm, in the face, in the back of the head, twice in the leg and once in the back.
If you didn't care then, you certainly don't care now!

georgephillip, et al,

Neither culture is a was a colonizing culture. Prior to the 20th Century, neither the (what we call today) Arab Palestinians or the Jewish (later to become the Israelis) had an Army for more than a thousand years. For more than a thousand years, neither culture had embarked on any real campaign of any significance.

Not as dangerous as the Culture of Zionism, IMHO:
(COMMENT)

Zionism is not a culture; it is a movement --- with the goal of establishing and developing Jewish state. Like most movements with any age to them, various leadership had various concepts on the accomplishment of the goal, and what the ultimate outcome may look like. Today, Zionism has evolved into the movement to protect the existing State of Israel.

"[It is the] iron law of every colonizing movement, a law which knows of no exceptions, a law which existed in all times and under all circumstances. If you wish to colonize a land in which people are already living, you must provide a garrison on your behalf Or else-or else, give up your colonization, for without an armed force which will render physically impossible any attempts to destroy or prevent this colonization, colonization is impossible, not "difficult," not "dangerous" but impossible!...
(COMMENT)

If the "iron law of colonization" applies, it applies to the forces that defined the UN and attempted to overturn the outcome of the Jewish National Home (the Independence of Israel through the right of self-determination).

"Zionism is a colonizing adventure and therefore it stands or falls by the question of armed force.

"It is important to build, it is important to speak Hebrew, but, unfortunately, it is even more important to be able to shoot-or else I am through with playing at colonization."
(COMMENT)

This is incorrect. Zionism is not colonizing anyplace. This is a perception advanced by the Arab Palestinian and Arab League; but not the Allied Powers, the League of Nations or the UN.

The roots of Zionism have evolved and changed many times in the last century; advancing as the political conditions permit. The same cannot be said on the stance of the Arab Palestinian.

European Jews invaded Palestine with the expressed intent of dispossessing the Arabs who were already living there. Your solution is to blame the victim of a colonizing adventure for invoking the right of self-defense?
(COMMENT)

Again, with the invasion propaganda. The Arab Palestinian plays this card as if the Jewish Immigrants defined all law and intentions of the Allied Powers, formed an Army, and made the biggest landing since D-Day and Operation Overlord.
Immigration of Jewish as Invisioned by the Allied Powers said:
FAISAL-WEIZMANN AGREEMENT (3 January 1919) said:

Article 6
The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes.

Preamble PART I Future constitution and government of Palestine said:
The mandatory Power shall use its best endeavours to ensure than an area situated in the territory of the Jewish State, including a seaport and hinterland adequate to provide facilities for a substantial immigration, shall be evacuated at the earliest possible date and in any event not later than 1 February 1948.

The two principle point are:

The Jewish Immigration was not conducted as an unlawful, independent action by the Jewish People.
  • It was planned and encouraged by the Allied Powers.
  • It was further pushed by the Nazi persecution of Jews during WWII.
  • It was further coordinated by the UN Committee on Palestine, in GA Resolution 181(II).

The Arab Palestinian and the Arab League was not satisfied with the all the various nations created out of the Ottoman Holdings. Neither the Arab or the Jew were particularly satisfied with the Partition Plan. But where the Jewish Agency accepted the UN decision and plan, the Arab defied the UN and the General Assembly and opened hostilities, war, invasion.

Now after three major wars and continuous hostilities over the last six decades, the Hostile Arab Palestinian comes crying to the body of law, which they defied, because they have proven to be weaker than their adversary.

It shows the character of the moral fiber. They deny the Jewish the right to holy places to worship the same Deity, yet claim they have some superior religious conviction under Sharia Law.

As I've posted before, the pressed demand that the Arab Palestinian owns the entire territory of the Mandate (minus Jordan), is a less than honorable position to foster, and certainly greedy; and most obviously a defiant stance against the fair and equitable need for the attendance of a culture (the Jewish) the world was trying to preserve and defend after more than 6 million had been destroyed in a little more than a decade.

UN Charter definition

“By virtue of the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, all peoples have the right freely to determine, without external interference, their political status and to pursue their economic, social and cultural development, and every State has the duty to respect this right in accordance with the provisions of the Charter.”

The territory was under Mandate via Treaty. All people have the "right" --- not just the Arab.

They were lawfully there. The UN lawfully acted. And the Jewish acted in accordance with UN policy and recommendation. The Jewish had the right of self-determination every bit as much as the Arab did.

To challenge the authority of the UN and the powers of the Mandatory, is to challenge the legal authority to constitute Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq and Egypt. Was it wrong to for the UN to set the stage for the independence of these nations.

The only reason that the Arab Palestinian is in such a condition now, is that they tried to take by force, territory that was being UN managed.

Who gave the right of the Arab to interfere with the "right of self-determination" of the Jewish People. Who gave the right of the Arab League to intervene?

The nations of the world carved out a small crop of land for the preservation of the Jewish People. Who had the right to over-rule them.

And, besides that, A/RES/181(II) was approved in 1947. Your citation comes more than two decades later. It wasn't even applicable at the time.

You are simply trying to apply concepts that were not even in place until well after the 1967 War, when the Arab League tried to interfere again.

You don't get it. The United Nation General Assembly Resolution 2625 (XXV) of 1970 was directed at the Arab League, which in the 1973 Yom Kipper Sneak Attack, violated the (then) new law.

Let's get the timeline right.

(COMMENT)

And they did not. None of the territories under mandate were kept by the Allied Powers. They created Arab States (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq) were all made from the outcome of the Treaty (and much much more). But just as they had a duty to the Arabs, they also had a duty to the Jewish people. An entire range of people were given the right of self-determination.

The Arab Palestinian was not happy with their slice of the pie. Thus, they tried to take it by force. This was a defiant act that was outside the rule of law. Failing that, not just once, but several times, they now cry foul; simply because they were weaker then their adversary.

FIRST MONTHLY PROGRESS REPORT TO THE SECURITY COUNCIL said:
