Simple. Every French foreign policy starting with ww1, to this day....and, someone can tell us when it was, after 1815, that France inflicted its will this way on Europe?

It cannot be excluded that the notion of 'nation-state' will have to evolve along with much else.
Most nations have an official language, and that we can understand. The U.S. does not, and in reverence of the First Amendment I vigorously oppose having one. The problem is certainly an interesting one. Language is such an immense part of being human, yet so poorly understood by most people. Oh, they understand words (or think they do), but they do not understand the processes in the brain and in thinking that are touched by their language. Put otherwise, the entire subject of communication needs thorough examination. It cannot be excluded that the notion of 'nation-state' will have to evolve along with much else.
Then I would like to risk to point out the Achilles heal of this one and only so far solution to the automation world labor catastrophy. France itself insists on the French language, as opposed to all others, when even the Italians manage to learn English now. If a nation state can't abolish its national language, then it has no future, except in the currently ongoing blacklisting scheme, where some nations are labeled to survive and some are put on "reservations" of Europe.

I do not recognize your view of history where France wants wars with its neighbors. Today, France is a stable productive European Union state. What money do you mean?Benoît Hamon is a good man and we are counting on the French electorate to do the right thing and put him in office.
This would be good indeed, if the money wasn't linked to robbing other Europeans, not even talking about middle easterners.
The money to be spent on the universal income. France did not export its revolutionary ideas like the USA did. France packaged it for the express purpose of creating wars in all of its neighbors. Not only is this obvious in that every country that neighbors the European Union is in some war, but also in that every border within Europe was redrawn by France to trigger new wars at whim. So the money is dirty, hence this basically nice idea of universal income is also dirtied.

It appears that many French want Marie Le Pen as their PresidentBenoît Hamon is a good man and we are counting on the French electorate to do the right thing and put him in office.
Your opinion that France somehow selects which European Union state will be successful makes no sense.I do not recognize your view of history where France wants wars with its neighbors. With other nations' money of course, yes. I can be productive with your money too. Hehe.
The stable and productive European Union states are selected by France. The others are not.
Yes, the polls are placing far right, anti-immigrant, anti-European Union Marine Le Pen with 25% at the top.It appears that many French want Marie Le Pen as their PresidentBenoît Hamon is a good man and we are counting on the French electorate to do the right thing and put him in office.

A large minority favors the Front National. The last time its candidate was in the second round of voting, 2002, 82% of the vote was for the sitting President, Chirac. He wasn't very popular really, so it was essentially voters rallying against the extreme right. It appears that many French want Marie Le Pen as their PresidentBenoît Hamon is a good man and we are counting on the French electorate to do the right thing and put him in office.

Next is conservative Francois Fillon with 22% and third is centrist Emmanuel Macron with 21%.
The socialist Benoît Hamon is trailing with 15%.
The first election will keep the two highest-scoring candidates and then there will be a run-off.
Marine Le Pen is not expected to win the run-off but who can tell?
Most French are wary that Le Pen will damage France's position in the European Union and the euro currency which she says France should replace with the French franc.

The Euro - Franc dilemma is the pivotal thing here in France. People will never dare think about changing their EU relations as long as their money is the Euro and not the Franc.

And the politician in France are real crooks.
Benoit Hamon don't seem to be one ( PS) but the Républican are Crooks.
Marine Lepen don't have the support and enough money to pass the élection.

Hi Dalia
Unfortunately everywhere politicians are crooks (or at least 90% of them)
