Gas prices, thank you President Obama!

What I don't understand is why Obama haters always spout off about fuel being less than $2/gallon when he took office, when that was not the average, median, OR mean price for gas during that time frame.

It was a spike, nothing more.

There's plenty to hate Obama for, but fuel prices ain't one of them.

Has it EVER went below $3.00 a gallons since he took office?

as someone said, it was 1.89 a gallon

in your best effort trying to be intelligent, tell the people how he managed to keep gas prices around $3 a gallon when the price of oil spiked from 24$ a barrel to 150$ a barrel BEFORE he ever took office.

People who are grateful for overpriced fuel dropping by six cents are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Like being whipped less ferociously deserves praise.
Obama's corrupt green agenda and subsequent reimposing of drilling restrictions directly caused fuel prices to be more than double what they should be and has kept our economy in the hole. Those who dispute that are either ignorant and/or are partisan sheeple.

The price of oil dropped by $100 a barrel as a result of drilling moratoriums expiring or being reversed between July '08 and September '08. Obama reversed those decisions upon taking office and the prices immediately jumped back up.
This is on the hack and his stupid sheeple excuse-makers.

you're an idiot .... global markets set the price of oil ... for the hard of head, look it up.

You're a moron. Contributing to the global supply affects that global price. Denying contributions to that global supply causes the price to not drop.
You're a stupid partisan sheeple.

oil is a commodity that trades on a FUTURES market .... a bird shits on a sidewalk and the price goes up, and airline hedges its fuel cost by buying a million barrels of oil at a price when prices are low, the price goes up, DENMAND drops, investor sentiment LOWERS the price of oil.. bla bla bla

they could open ANWR start drilling and the price of oil wouldn't go down a dollar ... Bush opened drilling and the price went down 100$ ??? ... you're an idiot, no more no less.

Big oil is making money hand over fist.... if we opened up 50 refineries and had a huge surplus of oil there are still idiots mouth there that wrongly believe gas prices would come down. Fact is big oil will contain ue to gouge us Nat the pump and some will support them. Why? Not too bright.n

Good lord, some people are so mentally impaired that they still believe Obama has anything to do with the price of gas. He'd make it 10 bucks a gallon if he could but he can't.

Wut? I've read on this forum numerous times that Obama is responsible for the price of gas.

Fail.

It was $1.89 when he took office. :eusa_whistle:

Two weeks before the election in 2008 gas prices were still around $3.50 a gallon.

That had a very minor effect for the short term. The increased demand of fuel by second world nations like India and China, accompanied with the devaluation of the American dollar are you primary reasons why the cost of fuel is where it is. I highly doubt we will ever see prices below $2.00 again.

Why did it drop from around $3.50 in August to $1.89 in January?

If you are going to be dishonest in your argument, I'm going to make you explain it.

I agree with the bolded part - the rest is just your regular retard drivel.

I got gas at Costco yesterday for $3.23 and other people were like "isn't it great?" Well, yeah, compared to $3.58, but it sucks compared to how low it should be and how low it can be if Congress does their job for the people instead of Wall Street.

Congress could have us back at $2.00 very easily.

That was a good move on Obama's part. Oil companies have since proven it was a good move, through their sheer unpreparedness and incompetence during subsequent spills.

The BP spill showed the world that while profits have skyrocketed, none of that money has been put into spill research. They are still using decades-old oil boom 'technology'. The executives all have nice homes in the Hamptons, though, so I guess it all evens out.

We are exporting gas at our highest rate ever.

And....Congress could have us much closer to being a nation that isn't dependent on gasoline to move people.
