Gay statists strike again...you will submit!!!!

Just to make it clear: This was not a "private home", or "occasionally rented out for weddings".

It's a full-time business.

Here's the website: Fall fun on the farm! | Saratoga Fall Family Fun, Pumpkin Picking, Cornfield MazeSaratoga Fall Family Fun, Pumpkin Picking, Cornfield Maze | Saratoga Fall Family Fun, Pumpkin Picking, Cornfield Maze

Just to be clear, your link mentions barn weddings and tent weddings, not weddings in the private house, which is what the couple says they were denied.

You really should go back and read the link in the OP again. The couple said nothing of the sort.

This is what the owner said:

When Jennifer McCarthy and Melisa Erwin asked the Giffords to use the facility for a 2012 wedding, Mrs. Gifford, a Christian, said she could only host their reception on the farm, but not the wedding. Weddings typically are conducted on the first floor of the Giffords’ home, and Mrs. Gifford argued the lesbian wedding would “literally hit too close to home,” RNS reported.

The owner is the one claiming that ceremonies are "typically" conducted on the first floor of their home (which their website seems to contradict).

Can you just walk in, or do you need an invitation to attend?

A grocery store is a public accommodation, a hotel is a public accommodation, someone offering services on their property under contract, or their own services under contract is a public accommodation only in the minds of people who want to use government to gain forced acceptance.

if you hold yourself open to the public, then you are public.

That's simple enough to solve - EVERY business becomes a member's only business and they can decide at the time of transaction whether to charge the 25 cents to become a member or whether to refuse to accept the member.

Carrying this out to its logical conclusion, a gay man will be able to sue a straight male if they refuse to marry them. Stopping discrimination will be the justification.

By all means, feel free to suggest that to every business in the country. Don't be surprised if they're not as enthusiastic about your plan as you are, though.

Are you talking about the website that repeatedly mentions barn and tent weddings, but never once mentions an indoor venue like the house?

You really should pay attention to details before you try to declare yourself the victor in an argument that you barely comprehend.

Irony!

The Giffords live in the barn. The same barn they advertise for indoor weddings.

Yes, live and let live is not their motto...more gays who will not accept someone not accepting their lifestyle...and so those individuals will be punished...

Blog: NY Farm fined for refusing to host gay wedding

Excellent. Those bigots need to have their property repossessed to pay the fines they owe for the years worth of public indecency (urination, nudity, sexual activities, etc.) that occurred in the public space they reside in.

What the fuck are you talking about, exactly?

The telephone conversation took place in September 2013, with Jennifer listening in on the conversation. Melissa and Gifford discussed renting the Gifford Barn at Liberty Ridge Farm (LRF) to hold a wedding between June and August 2013, and Gifford invited Melissa to visit to check out the facilities. When Melisa then referred to her fiancé as “she,” the tone of the conversation changed.

They wanted to have their wedding ceremony in the barn.

The barn.

The very same barn advertised for weddings. The very same barn they have multiple wedding photos for on their web site.

Got it now?

Well they live in public, do they not? So every time they've changed clothes, showered, had sex, or used the toilet, they've done so in public, and therefore should be fined. If a simple "no gtfo" to a strong, independent lesbian couple is enough to get them a $13,000 fine, then certainly their years worth of public indecency is enough to bankrupt them, which would lead to their land being repossessed to pay their monstrous debt to society.

So, again, the OP story is a big lie. A willful one.

The court case states plainly the couple wanted to get married in the barn.

The company advertises the barn for weddings. Lots of photos and "wedding coordinators". It's a going concern. A business.

A public accommodation.

NEXT!

Wrong.

In New York public accommodations law extends to gay Americans:

And as already correctly noted, the farm meets the criteria of a venue subject to public accommodations laws in the State.

The fine was warranted in accordance with New York law, and Constitutional in accordance with Commerce Clause jurisprudence.

A public business is not the same thing as "in public".

Your trolling is becoming obvious.

They couple rented the barn for their reception. At no time did anyone say they couldn't have the reception in the barn. Lots of gay couples had their reception in that barn. After renting the barn and finding out that there was no objection the couple said "we want to be married in your living room."

The owners of the farm disagree with you.

It's funny how the liberals thinks it's okay for a bank to not do business with a gun dealer. The bank closed accounts, but a religious person cannot cannot choose the same type of a decision for their business. Can I say hypocrite?

Just like the bakers and photographers...they could have gone somewhere else...but as long as there is one person who does not agree with their lifestyle on religious grounds...they will not stop...and they will punish them....like us or pay the consequences...

Either we have equal rights for all in this country or we should quit saying we do. Whether it's gays, blacks, women, or some religious group if you get turned away because of who you are, what you are, or how you worship you're gonna raise a stink about it. And rightly so.

Can I move into your house? If not, how the fuck do we have equal rights? Shouldn't I have access to everything you do if we are all equal?

See the fucking flaw in your position yet or are you going to rationalize away the fact that you are a hypocritical asshole?
You sound tense.

or gay people can man the fuck up and stop trying to get people to accept their lifestyle and just tolerate it.

none of these things are public accommodations. Public accommodation is when you walk into a store to buy something, or stay at a hotel, or get on a mode of transport. A small business that is contracted out on a per use basis is not publicly accommodating anything.

What truly galls me is that this wasn't an outright denial, but a condition and still these assholes sued these people because their FEEEWINGS were hurt.

Um...they were not sued. Nice try.

Yet they were, hence the judgement against them.

Want to try another lie?
Nope...they did not sue...they reported the BUSINESS that the state then fined for.....breaking the law. Are you in support of businesses not following the law?
