Georgia you rock!

It's okay for the government to specifically punish a private business because they disagree with an individual and legal business decision?

Yikes. Conservatism sure is going in an interesting direction.
What do you expect? Businesses bend like reeds in the wind to these left wing reactionary forces. There has to be a counter to this.

You mean like trying to make them bend in the wind to these kneejerk reactionaries in Georgia?

I hope Delta moves out of Georgia and costs the state a lot more than that in tax revenue and jobs.

Conservatives are not that bright. And they are still going to lose on the gun regulation changes.

Maybe their buddies over at the NRA headquarters can make up all of that tax revenue they will end up losing.
Well keep hoping. Delta needs Georgia a hell of a lot more than Georgia needs them. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson is Delta's main hub. Delta started in Georgia. As a result, they have very deep financial roots.

As long as the fringes on both sides make all the crying and whining they get the grease.

Wow, sounds like you are for Corporate Welfare? Why should Delta get a tax break while the poor don't?
So you're against taking tax breaks from all companies then? Not singling one out like this?
.
So you are okay that IRS attacked Conservatives companies during the Obama years, and now when it comes back at you, you whine like a pussie? The gloves are off punk, you fucked US real good in that Fundamental Transformation of America, now that Make America Great Again is on, now you have to take it, MFer.
Good stuff, considering how clearly ignorant you clearly are of my politics.

That doesn't stop you, though!

Always interesting, thanks.
.
I know you are a moderate because you are too ashamed to claim you are a liberal. it is people like you that got US 8 years of the dickwad, community agitator. We had to live with his rules and now times have changed and when you see the shit for brains getting punished now, you don't like it. President Trump was elected NOT to be an establishment puke, but a fighter, we are fighting to keep this country FREE, that means NOT to be cowed down by sorry ass liberals.

So, you think the way to keep America free is to use the power of the government to punish a company for a 100% legal business decision that you do not agree with and for the government to try and force the company to change that decision?

You have a very fucked up idea of what free means.

What none of the fake conservatives even know is that the tax break went to every airline and not just Delta. So the Ga Senate is "punishing" companies and people that did not even withdraw their one week a year discount from the NRA.

No, the bill passed the Georgia House it's stalled in the Senate.

How does that change a thing that I said?

Ironic isn't it? given all the wailing and gnashing of teeth from conservatives over the IRS and non-profits just a short time ago.

Apparently weaponizing tax policy and practices has become a "bi-partisan" past time. :disbelief:
What's new?

There are a lot of half empty terminals out there that would love to bring the 30,000 employees of Delta to their state.

Also, the tax break was for all airlines, so maybe more of them should think twice about flying in and out of Georgia.

Really now...can you name some? Will they also be relocating Delta's maintenance/hangar/logistics facilities? We are not talking about closing a Burger King store. This is a Hub.

It is likely it will not happen because this does not really hurt Delta at all.

The tax cut was for every airline that flew in and out of the state. Thus all airlines will lose the tax cut and all airlines will adjust their ticket prices accordingly. Some might even look to use Atlanta a little less than they do now.

The whole country will pay for the extra cost all because Delta took away discounts that were only good for one weekend a year to one specific location.

And frauds that call themselves "conservative" or "right" are now good with using the power of the government to force a company to change a perfectly legal business decision. Used to be only the left/liberals cheered for such moves by the government, but these days there is really not much difference between the two groups.

I have no problem with tax breaks for corporations are removed.

What I do have a problem with is elected officials using the tax system to punish a private company for doing something perfectly legal. This is gov't interference in the worst possible way.

Which is why the "conservatives" on this board are so happy with it, they love nothing more than for the government to interfere with private companies and individuals.

This social engineering by taxation will cost Delta $50 million. A tax exemption that the Gov and Lt Gov of Georgia were all in favor of a few weeks ago. $50 million a year? How long do you think it would take Delta to pay for a major move?

I've come to the inescapable conclusion that this country has completely lost its shit. I'm becoming more of a nihilist every day, just watching us willingly burn ourselves down for, uh, some unknown reason.
.
It isn’t unknown. It’s nativists battling against those who would alter this nation of free men, into a socialist regime with absolute power and authority over its denizens. If anything; as these years have gone on; the lines are becoming all the more clear.
Well, as I said, conservatism is certainly going in an interesting direction. I'd never thought I'd see conservatives backing something like this.
.
I didn’t say I liked it seeing it. But I see, what I see. And things are getting more divisive, and tensions are rising.

This is mental isnt it ?

Presumably they were initially offered the tax break as it would have benefited Georgia in some way ?
After all there are no free lunches.

And now they are withdrawing that support for what seem to be reasons unrelated to Georgia.

What does Georgia get out of this ?
Retribution

This would be an end of fiscal year, tax break. So, it's simply a missed opportunity more than anything.
As for moving a major hub? A LOT more than $50M.

Yeap...but getting shitbird, lefty panties in a knot...priceless.

You are the liberal in this discussion. Only a liberal can support such government intrusion into private businesses
