The NRA blocked the government from getting accurate stats on gun deaths.
Bullshit.
This and this are both perfectly valid and up to date enough for a high degree of accuracy in the determination of gun deaths per capita in the United States today. They're also the sources used in the Wikipedia article referenced in my earlier post.
Saying that more people are killed by guns in America than in any other country is a bit like saying more people wipe their asses in China than in any other country. It's probably true but no less misleading in the gun debate than using the latter in support of the claim that butt-wiping is more socially prevalent in China than anywhere else.
