lol there is nothing 'honest' about trucking; abuse and breaking laws to make more money is built into the business model for drivers as well as for those pretending to be 'owner/operators' in their Buy A Job' scams. The U.S govt. wastes millions every year subsidizing driver training for this industry, and it can't drive them off fast enough.

The people who hate truckers are their employers and rightwingers, as is clearly indicated by how much they get paid for living on the job 24/7 and having you labor racketeers extol their sweatshops on wheels as some good thing. Like I said you will all be turning around and sniveling and crying for the government to shoot them down like dogs if they dare to organize for something like adequate pay and better working conditions.

Yeah, because you said so. Most decent people don't stay in trucking long, it's a criminal lifestyle and it doesn't take long to note the risks outweigh the meager returns so that only the most desperate and criminally inclined stay in it.

What about them? You get what you pay for in employees; pay shit wages and you get shit for employees. Trucking is the bottom of the barrel in North American employment careers, sweatshops on wheels.

You obviously know nothing of trucking then and obviously shouldn't be making comments on something you have no insight to.

Truckers make good money and it's a respectable job.

My neighbor is a trucker. He owns his own truck and does contract runs from a city near us and drives to another city, drops his trailer and grabs another and comes back. He is gone Monday through thurs and makes about 90k a year.

He is considering selling his truck though and working for another company where he would do almost the same thing but would take a 8k a year pay cut but he drives their truck and doesn't have to do his own repairs and maintenance or pay for his own insurance on the truck.

Sweatshop on wheels? That's pure ignorance speaking.
