Spielberg sucks anyway. His last good movie was jurrasic park. After that he went on a steady decline with his movies. Each one more shallow the last and each one losing more and more of his style that made him so great.

But yeah I won't watch anything that even resembles being woke. I didn't watch the last Terminator, and even the new predator movie coming out I won't see because it's about an American Indian woman who defies stereotypes to become a warrior. His first movie was a 1971 TV movie called Duel. Very Hitchcockian.
Spielberg borrows often then adds titillation and a big budget. Saving Private Ryan borrowed heavily from the low-budget Sam Fuller movie The Big Red One.

Spielberg directed it but he did not write it. Richard Matheson wrote Duel. Spielberg only interpreted what was written. His first directing gig was the episode "Eyes" in the 2 hour Night Gallery pilot which was written by Rod Serling.
