GOP left Obama no choice but to act on immigration

The reason that thousands of children are rushing to our southern border to turn themselves over to authorities isn't because the GOP has failed to act...those kids are bum rushing our border because Barry's made it clear that his Administration has no intention of sending them back if they do.

What's happening right now on our border is farce. You've got a President whining that the GOP won't pass immigration laws when he himself blatantly ignores the laws that Congress DID pass!

Who benefits from undocumented persons entering our workforce? Follow the money is usually a good method to answer this question.

It would seem those who oppose raising the Federal Minimum Wage would be those who would benefit the most.

Once again partisan hysteria has taken over the immigration discussion on this site and in the public domain.

Opinion: GOP left Obama no choice on immigration - CNN.com

This week, the country witnessed one of the most irresponsible acts that we have seen from this Republican Congress, since they deliberately shut down the government less than a year ago. Republican House Speaker John Boehner informed President Barack Obama that he would not bring a vote on immigration reform to the floor this year.

Whatever excuse Speaker Boehner has for abdicating his responsibility as a national leader, it is not good enough, and he has now given the President ample excuse to act on his own. Which he is now doing. Maria Cardona Maria Cardona

Since Republicans in Congress refuse to do their job and allow a vote on comprehensive immigration reform this year, Obama, on behalf of the American people, is acting on his own to address this important issue -- for the well-being of our country, our economy and the immigrant community that has contributed so much to our economic growth and prosperity and is suffering greatly from a badly broken system.

Just because the Rs refuse to do their job, it does not follow that the president should as well. If the Rs don't like the president's actions, they have a funny way of showing it.

Really, there's just no excuse for their all out attack on the US govt.

Um no, the COUNTRY not the GOP, left Obama as the executive branch head the choice of enforcing current laws on the books. King Obama is CHOOSING to selling out the country!

Is it asking too much to enforce existing immigration laws? :dunno:

Mr. H.

EXACTLY what immigration laws are not being enforced?

Obama is deporting.
The fence is there - and worthless.
The Border Patrol is there.
More people are going south than coming north.

EXACTLY what laws are not being enforced?

I wonder how many Americans know we actually have more than 2000 miles of border to the south.

so he deports a hundred and a hundred come across....well i guess you can say he is doing his job.....

The OP being an opinion piece, I'll offer this opinion piece:

Rick Perry stands by Obama immigration conspiracy theory

You seem to think current laws are being enforced. I don't.

Obama seems quite willing to tackle a lot of tough issues - even if his solution is to issue Executive Orders. He has the power and the tools at his disposal to stem the tide of both immigrants AND refugees. It's not getting done because the POTUS is a lame and ineffectual leader without the required capabilities it takes to be a leader in any sense of the term.

i agree.....

So, you think it's A-OK to place people on buses and aircraft who are KNOWN to suffer from communicable diseases? You're OK with that.....

He is! More deportation than his predecessors as everyone knows. Thus, you're a liar or have been brainwashed by the Right Wing Media.

That's MISTER liar to you bitch![/QUOTE

The Obama Administration's 2 Million Deportations, Explained | Mother Jones

Oh bullshit. There are more people coming over the border than ever before. They are counting as "deported" those who they catch AT the border. How unsurprising that a government worker turns a blind eye to unethical reporting.

You're a disgrace to the oath you swore.

you can say "Illegals" Wry....you dont have to be Politically Correct....

No choice? When is the left wing going to stop whining about only controlling 2/3 of the government? Obama hasn't led on any issue in more than five years. You can set your watch by it, when the going gets rough the president gets the hell out of town.

Democrats have the White House.....That's it.

You're a little early. They have the Senate until next January.

You might be wise to look at how and which deportations that are counted. Seems ICE has their hands tied when illegals are confronted once they're in the US. Border busts are good to go, but once here busts are down 25%.

Republicans always find the time for another "Kill Obamacare" vote

The ONLY problem with that ^ is that it is an empty gesture.

ACTUALLY killing ObumblerCare would be a great service, however, to this Republic.

Bullshit. When you turn someone away at the border and -- for the FIRST TIME in THIS bullshit "Administration" -- CALL such things "deportations" (which they aren't), you can inflate the numbers and make grandiose bogus claims.

And lots of you laughable lolberals lap that bullshit right the fuck up.

It Depends on What the Meaning of ?Deportations' Is | National Review Online

Let's play President Obumbler:

Change the daffynition of whatever thing it is you want to compare, then compare the old numbers (under one definition) against the new numbers (under the revised daffynition).

There are plenty of gullible dufus libs willing to "buy" such crap. Says ALL the laughable lolberals, "Gee, that Obama! Ain't he dreamy!?"

Democrats don't have 60 votes. Republicans have the House, nobody has the Senate.

What conservatives don't realize is that by refusing to cooperate on legislation, and negotiating, just saying no allows Obama to use an executive order that results in a MUCH more Liberal-leaning outcome than if the Republicans had worked out a compromise.

So Republicans are helping to get more Liberal laws on the books!
