If energy would be cheaper, you wouldn't need government subsidies. You wouldn't need any government promotion. The private market would have capitalized on it decades ago.

If any alternative energy is cheaper, it's because it's taxpayer funded. We all have to go to work to produce those taxes, so no,it's not cheaper to everybody, perhaps just the end user in some cases.

You don't need to do tricks to sell fuel. Fuel sells itself. Whatever oil we don't want, other places will be more than happy to take our share.

It's not like trying to sell windmills, electric cars, solar panels, or crap people don't want. Everybody wants oil.

Even if we became a totally alternative fuel country, we still need car tires, we still need asphalt roads, we still need roof shingles.
