You can’t have an economy structured around endless growth. Growth has to happen on a basis that is ecologically sustainable, and that won’t happen if you leave it to market incentives. The Green Big Deal flirts with these ideas, but doesn’t fully commit to them.

You don't need to do tricks to sell fuel. Fuel sells itself. Whatever oil we don't want, other places will be more than happy to take our share.

Oil production includes most every thing in life

It's not like trying to sell windmills, electric cars, solar panels, or crap people don't want. Everybody wants oil.

Even if we became a totally alternative fuel country, we still need car tires, we still need asphalt roads, we still need roof shingles.

And that's not even close to all the things we depend on regularly that are made from the byproducts of oil refining.
