Guns! (Again)

I think the parents could be charged with negligence. However, it's still a tragic accident. Since no one intended it to happen, it's an accident by definition. As far as people only having guns in the house because they are planning to shoot someone; that's just a foolish statement.
I was taught that an accident, by definition, is unforeseeable.

Anyone can see that leaving a gun around kids will eventually result in FORSEEABLE consequences.

Therefore, most of these cases are not accidents, they are criminal neglect.

Bull shit through and through. I have raised 5 kids, the youngest is still at home. I have always had a loaded gun or two in the home. What use is an unloaded gun or a gun locked up?

No one was killed, no one was ever injured, no gun went off accidentally or by itself. It's a matter of intelligence and parenting. If your kid got a hold of a gun and killed himself or someone else, then that's Darwin's Law and perhaps your idiot defective genes shouldn't be loosed on the world anyway.
I doubt you left them around for the kids to find.

When they crawled, mine we on top of dressers.

When they learned to climb, the guns were on top of refrigerators or on high shelves.

When they could reach the refrigerator top and high shelves, they knew how to handle the weapons.

I never said one could not have loaded guns around kids.

I always did, just out of their reach until they were old enough to have their own.

The issue here is reckless behaviour leading to kids getting guns, not disarmament of parents.

When a child finds an improperly stored weapon and kills himself or others, why do people call it a "tragic accident"?
It's negligence and why does the NRA have nothing to say about these shootings? Do they just consider it to be collateral damage for optimizing gun sales?

Define accident.

What do you expect the NRA to say that they don't already say? The NRA has been offering gun safety instruction for free ever since it was established.

You should really stop standing on the graves of dead people to push your leftist agenda.
Why does the NRA oppose laws requiring gun owners to report their stolen weapons? Why does the NRA support straw purchasers?

Because those laws are always used to screw over law abiding gun owners....we can't trust you nuts on the anti gun side....we want to be accomodating to your irrational fears...your phobias about guns....but each time we see a law that is supposed to be "common sense" it ends up being 1) completely useless in addressing what you say you want to do....i.e. background checks and gun registration and 2) ends up just making it harder for law abiding citizens to legally practice their 2nd amendment rights......

Reporting stolen weapons....doesn't do anything to actually stop a crime or solve it......also, once you nuts get the political muscle you will use that report to allow the victim of the theft to be sued for what the criminal did with it.....just ask Joe here on U.S. message...he rants about that all the time

Straw purchasers....sounds good but 1) will not stop illegal gun purchases since providing felons with guns is illegal right now and 2)....until you gun nuts distort it....I buy a pistol as a birthday gift.....I am now a straw purchaser....right? And the wrong prosecutor will have me arrested. And then you guys will all claim "that isn't what we intended" and you would be lying through your teeth....your whole point is not to stop criminals from getting guns, because you know there is nothing you can do that would achieve that...look at France....3 terrorists, one a convicted criminal and 2 on a government terrorists watch list in strict gun controlled France...a country you gun nuts love because of its strict gun control laws....they still got their hands on fully automatic rifles with "high capacity" magazines, a rocket propelled grenade launcer and hand grenades.........

So you can't control criminals getting guns......but you know with the right laws you can take them away from law abiding citizens...the ones who don't use them to kill people...

So no matter what you say...... We. Do. Not. Trust. You. YOu have proven yourselves untrustworthy, deceptive and irrational....and I will not support one more "common sense" gun law that is in reality just a way to ban a gun, a bullet or another piece of equipment...

Screw you guys........

Most gun violence in the United States are confined to small areas in inner cities where gangs and drug dealers conduct their business....it also happens that 13 of the most violent cities are under democrat control and have been for decades...remove these 13 cities and their gun crimes and we would have close to a lower rate of murder than even Belgium....this following video by Bill Whittle says that America is #1 for gun ownership....but #111 for murder....and he points out that of those 110 countries with higher murder rates....most of them are run by the left wing socialists.....and then he names the 13 cities in the United States with the highest murder rate...all run by democrats....and the city with the lowest murder rate...Plano Texas.....where just about everyone has a gun....

I had and still have a pump shot gun loaded by my bed. No toddler is going to pump and fire my Mossberg pump 12 gauge. I carry a Kel Tec P3AT and I leave that lying out when I get home. The 9mm that I keep in my office is also an automatic just like the Kel Tec. No toddler is going to draw back the slide to load those weapons. By the time they are old enough to learn about those weapons, they have been taught safety by me.

When a kid gets a hold of a weapon and fires it, it's because of two things, one is poor parenting, and the other is adult stupidity.

Darwinism, in my opinion.

You are a racist lying moron. Quite the unfortunate combo there.

Sugar cookies and french fries being shoved in kids mouths do far more harm to far more children than guns ever will.
true
but sugar and french fries harm children's health but don't kill them or another people.yes?
Basically I agree with you but what about guns and why do people call it a "tragic accident"?
Another gun phobia thread. If you are scared don't own a gun.

Hmmm...apparently 1.6 million Americans, an average of various studies, need guns each year....to stop violent rape, robber, beatings, stabbings and murders......

It` so embarrassing to share a country with so many chickenshits that can`t go to the grocery store without packing heat. I`ll bet this fella was in the store to buy an industrial sized box of Depends. He probably goes through his depends like shit running through a goose because he`s so a-skeered all the time. This idiot had a permit. Instead of letting him play with guns we should be getting this coward some psychiatric help.

It's so embarrassing to share a country with so many chickenshits who demand we all have health insurance. I mean what the hell. Most people don't get sick. Or how about that car insurance? Most people don't get in crashes. Or how about abortions? C'mon, a woman can abstain from sex or engage in sexual activity where no child can be created why the hell do we need birth control or abortions!

Chickenshits!
