That map is comedy in action and so is the cable. Ahmed doesn't get to divide the area according to the Nazi Mufti's desires. LOL

This is the way the area was supposed to be divided, AFTER they gave all of Jordan to the "ARAB PALESTNIANS".

Too bad that stupid plan flopped.

Both imperial powers tried to rule through established elites, although the British were much more willing than the French to move their mandates forward towards a qualified form of independence. At the specific, local level, though, Fieldhouse finds no parallel in his wide knowledge of imperial practice elsewhere to compare to the disastrous experiment in social and political engineering undertaken by the British in Palestine. Here, he pulls no punches in his criticisms. The Palestine mandate was, ‘probably the most ignominious failure of its kind in British imperial history, the first time that Britain had ended its rule without leaving an established government behind it’ (pp. 344–5).

There were a lot of failures by the British which are the root of many of today's conflicts. One of them would be to encourage mass Arab migration into a land they designated for Jews, after they encouraged the Jews to migrate there. Those same hoards of Arab invaders are the the same ones that call themselves "Palestinians" today. True story. LOL.

AN once again, you have not answered the question about the Palestinian border with Egypt, LEbanon and Syria. How did those borders come to be ???

The border with Egypt was set by agreement with the Ottoman Empire in 1906. That border was honored after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

The borders with Lebanon and Syria were set the same way their borders were created.

You know, PFT, every time I look at your avatar it makes me sad.

To think that the adorable child in your arms is going to grow up listening to your views.

As the song goes...

Would you teach him about Heaven?
Would you show him how to love the Earth?
Would poison him with prejudice, from the moment of his birth?
It's actually sad, when you think about it.

The song, by the way, is called "Speaking with the Angel" by Ron Sexsmith. There is a great performance of it by Cry Cry Cry (a group consisting of Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Shindell). Great tune.
