How many pubs have closed in the last few years is a good indicator of how the economy is doing. When I was there in the mid 90's when it wasn't great but the pubs were thriving.

I havent seen stats on that but there are articles every week listing some pub closing. My local only opens at the weekend. Energy costs make it non viable on quieter noghts.

It took several months for most of Biden's bullshit to cause inflation....except when he cut back on our energy production....that was almost immediate...causing the market to drive up gas prices immediately.

Truss getting ejected seems to have come as a direct result of the Bank of England telling pension funds they had to get out of gold gilts in 4 days.

Some people are arguing that this is deliberate. I don't suppose the fossil fuel people have anything to do with it, Why for instance is the UK suffering at least as much as Europe when we only got 5% of our gas/oil from Russia.
