I've been seeing a lot of articles concerning "The Great Resignation". They all maintain that in a "Post-COVID" environment, many non-essential workers who have bee laid off due to COVID closure will refuse to re-enter the workplace and that they prefer to stay home and get paid to play X-Box.
None of the articles are very specific about how these people will pay their rent and bills. I think they believe that either the government will be forced to pay them a minimum income or that employers will be forced to accept them back on the worker's new terms.
Either way, it will be fun to watch.

We need to start criminally prosecuting employers who hire those undocumented workers.
When they illegally hire undocumented workers those employers become criminals. They broke the law.
The law needs to be changed so that hiring an undocumented person is a felony crime with heavy fines and at least a decade of prison time.
When an employer knows they will face prison time and heavy fines they won't hire an undocumented worker.
That will never happen because the rich buy our politicians and the last thing the rich wants is for their dirt cheap labor to be cut off.
And republicans use the undocumented against democrats as a campaign issue. The last thing republicans are going to do is allow this problem to be solved. They don't want to lose what they see as a very good campaign issue to beat democrats with.
