The rules of jurisprudence require that they give the defense a chance to interview or investigate these witnesses, if the judge allows it.

As far as using any jurisprudence that was gone long ago when manufactured evidence was placed into evidence and was then exposed... They want to call Rep. Jamie Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.) to testify about what she heard from Kevin McCarthy about what Trump said during a Jan 6th phone call.

That's hearsay.

So even if she "testifies" that Mr. McCarthy told her that Trump said " I guess these people are just more angry about the election and upset than you are," that is not evidence of incitement, and it's obviously true that many of the Capitol rioters were very angry about the election.

Schumer made an agreement with McConnell on how this trial would go, and I would presume no witnesses would be allowed cuz the Dems didn't believe they had a shot at a conviction and so they want to get it over with and move on to Biden's agenda (orders from Far Left). So, if Leahy allows one or more witnesses then that breaks the deal and from here on out it's total war, and the GOP can tell the world every day that the Dems can't be trusted. Plus, if the Dems get to call a witness then the GOP gets to call witnesses too and then the case drags on and distracts from the other business. Now why would ANTIFA loving Nancy refuse protection of the complex unless she was part of the insurrection planning? The FBI told her, in a briefing on January 2nd, that there was a credible threat to the capitol hill complex and gave them specifics. On January 5 a pipe bomb was found on the capitol hill complex steps and she still denied requests.. this whole thing stinks to high heaven..
