In addition to Republicans, 20% of the Democrats in the House voted for the bill, too. Most were Democrats worried about losing their next election due to the American people's rejection of Obamacare.

If that proportion votes for it in the Senate, it will pass there, too. But will they?

The Mr. Obama might have to explain why he had a chance to let people keep the health plans they like, plans they had chosen back when government allowed them to choose.... but he vetoed their opportunity.

House passes Republican bill to let insurers offer old health plans

Reuters News | Nov 15, 2013

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The House of Representatives on Friday approved a Republican bill that would allow insurers to continue to offer for another year healthcare plans that do not comply with the higher standards of benefits under President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law.

The vote in the Republican-majority chamber was 261-157 for the measure sponsored by Republican Representative Fred Upton. Thirty-nine Democrats supported it despite a White House veto threat.

It's not making it passed the house.

Simple as that.

i hope it doesn't get past the House....it might, maybe delay the pain for a year....but the faster this monstrosity sinks the better....

Sen. Harry Reid will not let it come up for a vote, just like he has with all the others.
This way the Dems that are up for re-election in the House next year can go back to their constituents and say that they tried and supported it.

Yeah we tried and supported it. Until we didn't when...we....sent it back to...ourselves.

People are waking up to the stupidity that is Obamacare.. and the DEM politicians want to keep their jobs.. Either they start voting to start whittling away the parts of this crap.. or they will lose and REPs will dismantle it in the near future

You mean the same way that Boehner won't bring up bills in the House when he doesn't agree with them? That is outrageous!

No, Boehner allows the bills sent from the Senate to be voted on.
Reid does not.

Both sides delay/prevent votes. That's why they're the do-nothing congress.

There is a big difference between delaying bills like Boehner does who wants to negotiate over a bill at a later time and what Reid does, who refuses to let the bills come up for negotiations or a vote.

After giving a speech where obama promised to let people keep their plan if they like it, a bill was passed that would change the law to let people keep their insurance. obama has vowed to veto that law.
