My neighbor of 18 years wife left him , police were suppose to collect the gun from him because he was mentally unstable...well some how he got a gun and murdered his 24 year old son visiting him...he tried to get his daughter to visit the same night..
He then killed himself.

These fuc*#ing paid off people passing laws are making millions from the NRA I am sure...

The problem is the SSA made the definition far to broad. Even the ACLU, no staunch defender of the 2nd amendment, opposed the rule.

Not being able to handle one's own finances as you get older does not mean the person is incompetent. For that a judge has to decide.

The rule that was overturned is the one that makes the social security administration an arbiter of who can be denied self protection. Specifically considering elderly people not managing their finances mentally unstable.

The rule was an undisguized and blatant act to make crimes against the elderly safer.

Marty is correct. There is no due process and as such is illegal. Note that the rule is not legislation and has not been challenged in court. It is just another order put out by the Obama administration to restrict gun rights. Anyone put on that list was done so without any investigation as to competency. They also had no legal mechanism to challenge their inclusion nor a recourse to be removed from it and have their rights restored.
