How do we Know Human are Causing Climate Change?

AI Overview

We know humans are causing climate change primarily because of the dramatic increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, which directly correlates with the burning of fossil fuels, and the unique chemical signature of this added carbon dioxide points to its human origin; alongside this, we observe warming trends in the planet's temperature, melting ice caps, and rising sea levels, all consistent with the effects of increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Key points supporting human-caused climate change:

  • Rising CO2 levels:
Precise measurements show a significant increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide since the industrial revolution, with the majority of this increase attributed to fossil fuel burning.
    • Carbon isotope analysis:
The specific ratio of carbon isotopes in the added CO2 matches the signature of fossil fuels, providing strong evidence that the source is human activity.
    • Climate models:
Computer models accurately predict observed warming trends when factoring in human-caused greenhouse gas emissions.
    • Observed impacts:
Melting glaciers, rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and changes in plant and animal life are consistent with the warming predicted by climate models.

When the northern hemisphere deglaciates, the oceans and the atmosphere warm. Been going on for the past 3 million years. That's what's happening today.

Only climate fraud idiots like you argue against the empirical climate evidence of the geologic record which shows the atmosphere does not drive the climate of the planet.

Laughable. You, as an employee of the Co2 FRAUD, want to con Americans into accepting clearly fudged data as real.

No. You are. I explain how the planet is cycling between glacial and interglacial periods.

Which is completely refuted by the ice core data, showing both Greenland and AA grew ice straight through the bullshit "interglacials."

Indeed, the fact that you insist on pushing such easily discredited fraud is proof you ARE A FRAUD.... and want people to accept FUDGE and FRAUD as "real."

How much ice melt from where, and how deep in the glacier...??

The deeper the ice core layer, the more compressed the gas is.

That is called warming, and it would increase surface air pressure, which is laughable since surface air pressure is dropping...

It's your silly claim, you tell me.

The deeper the ice core layer, the more compressed the gas is.

Deeper ice compresses the gas more, but the additional compression doesn't change the amount of gas.

That is called warming, and it would increase surface air pressure,

Post evidence that warming increases surface air pressure.

The atmospheric pressure during the Jurassic Period was likely much higher than it is today, at least 3.2–5.0 bar compared to the current 1 bar.

During the Jurassic Period, the Earth's climate was much warmer and wetter than it is today.

No, I meant post evidence that actually helps your claim.

Incorrect. Oxygen isotope measurements are considered highly accurate, especially when analyzed using modern mass spectrometry techniques, providing a reliable tool for studying past climates and geological processes due to their good reproducibility and sensitivity to environmental changes.

The only fudge here is the fudge you've been packing.

That does, actually.

The difference between surface air pressure during Jurassic (no land near the poles and hence no ice) vs today (9 million cubic miles of ice on AA and G-land) is what is trapped on AA and G-land....especially in the deeper layers of AA's ice, 2 miles down, compression 100 fold.

So, when ice age glacier does melt, it releases gas back into the atmosphere, which increases SURFACE AIR PRESSURE....

6th grade stuff...
