Seriously, how many people here and around the world hope and pray that the guy or group who bombed the Boston Marathon is American?

Both on the left and right secretly want this to be some American group with an agenda so they can pounce and start the eradication of their political foes.

Its not like we have to worry that our president will declare war on an innocent country, kill hundreds of thousands of people and cost us trillions of dollars in the doing.

After a certain point, based on the actions of an individual, I will not link a perpetrator to any political ideology. There comes a point when a person crosses a line and they are just plain crazy. Not Democrat, not Republican, Not conservative or liberal, just crazy. McVeigh, crazy. Oswald, crazy. Atlanta Olympics, crazy. Boston perp if domestic, crazy. There is no other way to explain it. I guarantee that there are victims from both parties recuperating today. Whoever did this didn't care about political ideology, they cared only about how many people they could kill and maim.

But a friend told me today that the far right fringe websites were ramping up to pin this on Obama in yet another attempt to consolidate their base.

I have to assume that you haven't been watching teevee coverage of this attack, then. Virtually all of them are engaging in speculation, positing that it could have been a Muslim terror attack or some crazy right-winger.

I have seen some, but I just tune out the opinions. I saw the numbers of wounded at 176 now. When salient information comes out I will perk my ears up.

Living in the New York metro area but being a resident of the south shore of Boston, I can't believe that Muslim extremists would go for this kind of attack, though. There's just no volume kill in the placement of those bombs.
