I can’t breathe again but in LA cops

How about holding criminals responsible for their actions?
All people must be held responsible for their actions. Cops can't just go around killing with out being held responsible. Just because you are a cop does not excuse you from the rules.

You mean in the closest parking lot or garage? That how the cops do it, where you come from?

So your response to a drinken asshole on drugs driving on our public streets is to attack the cops?

My response is the cops did not have the right to kill him. It is against the law. Implied consent states you can not be forced to take a drug or alcohol test but will forfeit your license for a year. The cops broke the rules forcing a test and four large dudes crushed a guy on his knees that was not a threat. So fuck you and fuck those cops.

No dipshit, no one knew about it. A judge just ordered the release of the video to the public.
Shouldn't have mentioned that. Now as a good right winger, he'll be mad at the judge for spilling the beans, when the cops had it under wraps.

If you dont like the law it can be changed

but the cops had a legal right to take blood

Lol no they did not. You can refuse but get an automatic license suspension.

Not in this state, in this state they can hold him down and take his blood.

Such a thing should never happen in a free country, yet here we are

The guy reminded me of a wild animal. Screaming, thrashing, completely uncooperative. Only when the cops had to make him comply did he finally say he would cooperate while thrashing, screaming and generally acting like a crazed animal. Maybe the cops should have handled it better but that is for an investigation. In the meantime, playing judge and jury of all law enforcement is stupid, ludicrous and not helpful.

In most states you have the RIGHT to refuse both, which usually means you automatically lose your license for a year.

Places run by people like you, such as California, allow the cops to forcibly draw blood from suspects without their consent. Same type of places that forced people to get a medical procedure, or lose their jobs, their health benefits, custody of their kids, and their homes. That's how you people roll.

From the OP's link:

The coroner’s office attributed Bronstein’s death to “acute methamphetamine intoxication during restraint by law enforcement,” though it declared the cause as “undetermined,” the paper said.

Also from another article:
In the video shown Tuesday, around two minutes after Bronstein falls silent and unresponsive, officers begin shaking him, one says, “wake up," and they are told to make sure he has a pulse.

Bronstein is left facedown in handcuffs. No officer appears to be on his back, and he appears to take several deep breaths but does not move or speak. When officers sit him up, he does not keep his head up, the video shows.

He does not answer his name, the handcuffs are taken off, he is placed on his back and a device to measure his pulse is put on a finger, the video appears to show.

The person recording says, “Is he breathing? If he’s got a pulse and he’s not breathing, he still needs rescue breaths. Get some air in him.” A mask with a pump is then used and then chest compressions, the video appears to show.

IMO, the guy died of meth. The video does not show cops kneeling on his neck, he was so agitated and on meth, he probably died of a meth overdose. The cops tried to revive him but it was too late. His family has filed a lawsuit alleging excessive force and untimely medical care. Hopefully we will get a fair trial without all the cries of 'racist.'

You do know by law you don't have to take either one. You're saying the police were justified in murdering this man because he refused to take a breathalyzer or a blood test.
Unless they have changed the Law in California, you have no right to refuse a blood alcohol test. You have the option of breath or blood, but that’s it.

Dude, cops do this all the time all over the country.

You just didn't care because you hate the usual victims of this.

Two simple concepts, 1. Don't do anything to get arrested. 2. If that fails, do what you're told while in custody.

.

I don't understand why he wasn't sedated instead. Perhaps they legally cannot sedate someone?
Or were they worried about what other drugs he had taken?

My honest opinion on this matter is close to that of Floyd.
Both instances are overwhelmingly the fault of the perp. You make choices. This man did not want a blood test because he knew he was going straight to jail because it would show positive for drugs. He was asked - what - 20 times to allow the test?
You hear the cop say one more chance... then you hear the cop say a second time... one more chance. And he still wouldn't cooperate.
Like Floyd... this man died because he chose to take drugs, chose to fight with police. Whatever drug he had taken likely gave him a heart attack when he went into hysterics.

With these people, even "safe" restraining chairs have caused dozens of deaths. The problem isn't the means of restraint, the problem is the hyped up - drugged up mental physical state they are in can and does cause cardiac arrest.
I see a whole lot of assuming in this post based on very few or no facts.

No, cops can't sedate prisoners, that could only be done by a licensed professional, either a doc/pa or Nurse or a nurse/paramedic acting on their orders.

Yes, the means of restraint absolutely was the cause of his death as this type of takedown is known to be extremely risky especially with a prisoner who is extremely agitated and/or high which is why it's to be used as a last resort and requires the prisoner to be turned from the supine position or sat up as quickly as possible after the restraints are applied.

After the Floyd case there was an amazing level of gross negligence, stupidity, and arrogance at work that night and everyone knew better so we have a dead subject and at least four cops who will likely be convicted of some form of 2nd degree murder or manslaughter and the rest involved have almost certainly worked their last day in LE for life so their careers are over.

The families of all these cops will also now have their lives ruined and no doubt facing constant threats for the foreseeable future until this case is fully resolved, punishments handed out and some time has passed for the rage to subside.

The city/county will also probably be looking at 7 figure settlements x the number of officers as well so all the taxpayers of the city/county are going to get screwed for years because of their bad judgement.

Yes the perp here is fully responsible for creating the circumstances but the cops are 100% responsible for how they reacted and the fact it ended with his death.
