I Hate Walmarts

Walmart hasn't destroyed shit. No one is forced to shop there.

Thanks for the truth. We did this to ourselves and have dug ourselves a hole so deep we are losing sight of daylight.

Lets not forget the other mega chains either.
Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy. B. Dalton, Krogers, CVS, etc...
Why is it always Wally World that gets picked on for doing the same things that the other mega chains do?

It's a racist thing. Wally world's cheap prices encourages minorities to live close to them or even drive through the good neighborhoods to get to them.

That, and the great Fried Chicken with a free side of watermelon.

Those prone to hate can hate a store. I find it ludicrous hating a store, to be honest.

Hating so easily is like taking poison hoping another suffers. It's ugly.

Thankyou for ANOTHER ..Bad Analogy...:clap2: :clap2:

There are many good reasons to hate Walmart. It has destroyed more truly American small business than any other entity. The few thousands of jobs it has created relative to the millions lost for the savings of a few dollars in purchases is obscene.

I have never spent a dime in a Walmart. It disgusts me to see America canibalising itself in this way.
It's not an analogy, moron. Some folks are so prone to hate (ie. haters) that they can actually hate a store.

I don't get into hate as much as haters like you and Madeline.

Mine is as well.. Another small town where most people give a shit about their surroundings.

Me three. The new Dallas WalMart is quite nice. However, WalMart's meats suck. Only thing I'll buy in their meat department is chicken.

All of the ones i have ever been to in the dallas/plano are have been very nice and well kept. The "green" one in McKinney was great.

Dallas, GA, not Dallas TX. I should been more specific.

'Round here, if you say you're going to the Dallas WalMart, people know what you're talking about. My fault for lapsing into local-speak.

Yes it is moron. You can like or dislike anyone you chose. I consider what Walmart does to be significantly anti-American. They destroy the fabric of our communities so pissants like you can sell out your own neigborhoods for a few paultry bucks. The jobs they offer are bullshit. The people they replace in your community bought cars and homes and including themselves hired 3-4 times as many of your local neighbors. The business destroyed supported local sports programs like little league. The pissant jobs they offer are not living wage jobs. The profits go out of your community and the bulk of what is spent goes to China. All so cheapskates like you can get a slightly better deal. You are selfish and short sighted. The benefits to a community before a Walmart shows up include people sending their kids to college among many others. How many Walmart employees can Buy homes, nice cars and send their kids to college. None..zero! You are an idiot and you that purchase there have sold out your own communities for next to nothing. I wouldn't brag about your petty selfish little lives if I were you.

Hate?...Ya halfwit..I hate Walmart. And I hate that people like you can talk yourselves into being their customers. Don't tell me how much you love our country because you do not. Our country and your community aren't worth pocket change to you.

It just shows how disconnected you are with regular Americans, that you dare to judge people harshly for frequenting outlets that stretch their dollars so they can more adequately provide for their families.

More evidence that the left seeks to marginalize the family, and has no problem seeing the poor people live in even more abject poverty than they already do, in order to support their own socialist agenda.

Walmart also puts many of those minorities to work.

I don't see how selling goods at an affordable price encourages minorities to do anything.

Hmm that got me to thinking. yes a dangerous thing.
However I do not think I have ever seen a black or minority working at my local mega mart Wally world.
A very red county btw.

And we do have a good sized black population in the same city.
I think there is only 5 or 6 blacks living out in the rest of the county though.

Well I live in an area with a large Hispanic and migrant worker population.

There are a LOT of minorities (and not just hispanics) working in our local Walmarts. My daughter in law was one. They also hire the elderly and disabled. And provide them with medical, and regular raises and recognition. They provide them with regular schedules, and promote them appropriately, and provide them with incentives to pursue promotion and education.

My guess if there are no minorities working there, it's because they don't want to or there's another large employer nearby that pays higher wages. Walmart starts at minimum, I believe. Factory jobs pay much more.

There are virtually NO vacant jobs around here.
about 1/2 of my wally worlds employees are over 30. Best job they can find.
And we have lots of hispanic/migrant workers as well.
Tobacco and ag workers.
They marry the ugly fat white girls so they can stay here.
now before I get slammed, it is the truth around here.

Not my being racist, just an honest observation.

The "left"? You are dumber than a bag of doornobs. The business owners displaced were most likely republicans that worked hard..saved thier money and started a business..or they took over the reigns from thier parents...also probably republicans. You are so full of shit I could go on for days on how dumb you are....But you really already know that don't you. You stupid weasles can congratulate yourselves on your pathetic bargains but don't tell each other that you work two jobs and still can't make ends meet.

I'll tell you really why you have to stretch your dollars... They are being sucked right out of your community and the genius bargain hunter is too stupid to see it.

Does that mean if your only two choices are to spend $15 for printer paper, or $3 for printer paper, you're willingly going to spend $15?

Why do I doubt that?

I know I don't have half of what I have by being stupid...

One fact about Wally world and cheap chinese imports is that they masked our economic decline for some time there.

I am not saying that is good or bad, just an observation.

You may not be stupid but you are definitely a liar...Printer paper is available in Seattle in local drug stores and office supply stores from $4 - $6 500 count...I guess lying is stupid after all.

Umm.. That's an office supply store - another big chain. I'M talking about a small local family owned office supply...

DO follow along, tootsiebear.

Let's not be swinging these generalizations around too much, shall we? No one is accusing poor people who have not got the resources to buy anything but the very cheapest of blindly fueling the demise of this country. The request to consider buying locally/buying from small businesses/Buy American Made Products is directed at folks who still have a margin of disposable income to play with.

And no one is suggesting you pay significantly more for comparable goods to help underwrite your local small business community. They need to compete and I'm not advocating elsewise. I'm saying when the price narrows to a nickel or so, mayhaps redirect some purchasing dollars back into local businesses and Made In American products.

I never set foot in a Walmarts and would not buy from them under any circumstances -- but -- I am not looking after wee ones. I am not working. I am not so financially strapped I need to squeeze the life from every dime. I can afford to spend mebbe $5 a week more to buy locally, and so I choose to do so.

I think the quality is better. For sure, the shopping experience is better. I'm not asking anyone to throw the baby out with the bathwater; just to pause and consider if you might could make some new choices, is all.

If you can't now, that's fine. Mebbe someday.

Racist, and bigoted besides.
Great combination.

So tell us how black children on the Ivory Coast are expendable, since you want chocolate.

Fred Meyer and Bartells are local chains that started here in Seattle. I am talking about buying local and avoiding the worst place Walmart entirely.

Yes it is worth spending an extra dollar to buy copy paper 5 miles closer and locally owned.

PS..I shouldn't have called you a liar. sorry

What you really are is a deceitful snake..better?!

You could come up with lame excuses all night. I have been "shopping" for over 55 years so you have no special shopping experience I need to be aware of.

Just be good with what you are doing and stop with the bullshit. Own it!!..be proud of it!!!

Don't be shy you have lots of company!

I have no idea who/what Fred Whatever and/or Bartell Whomever is. *I* have a little tiny locally owned office supply in the middle of downtown, which is really hard to get to in my rinky dink down. I also have Walmart, which is right off the freeway.

Seattle isn't exactly small, dimwit.

West Bend, WI is.

To closet walmart here is about 40 miles away. The union has SF all tied up and wont allow non union competition.

Price shop name brand items in the grocery and compare them to walmart and you will be AMAZED. Oreo cookies are oreo cookies no matter where you get them. The list is endless. My pet peeve is Swanson broth. $1.89 at safway, 10 for $10 on sale. Walmart on a daily basis is .89 cents.

If i had the choice to shop at walmart for certain items over safeway and lucky on a daily basis, you better believe i would.

Victoria's Secret>>> Wal-Mart

BRISBANE, Calif. -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is going for the jugular in the holiday retailing war, announcing Thursday that it will offer free shipping on nearly 60,000 online items -- with no minimum purchase requirement.
The world's biggest retailer, long known for its low prices, is raising the stakes just over two weeks before Black Friday, viewed as the official kickoff of holiday shopping.

Wal-Mart's free shipping offer, which includes electronics, jewelry and toys, will run through Dec. 20.
Items purchased from the company's website will be delivered to customers' homes within three to five business days from the order's processing via standard shipping. Return shipping is also free, or items can be returned to a local Wal-Mart.

How many small businesses in your community will this kill? Please consider boycotting this company; the products you buy from them are sometimes made by child or slave labor -- which of you needs to save a nickel that badly?

Buy American Made products. Shop locally as much as you can, and support small businesses.

Don't make a Xmas gift out of the suffering of children or enslaved people overseas and your neighbors here.
