I really love my country....but I also acknowledge facts...

Yes, our country is simply great for many, many reasons and, all in all, I'd rather live the rest of my days within the U.S. and enjoy all that she has to offer.

However, facts are facts.....and the right wing segment of our society that blindly espouse their belief in "American exceptionalism," are simply not dealing with facts.

Consider that when it comes to healthcare we rank 37th in the world, while spending almost 3 times as much as anywhere else on the planet. Further, when it comes to life-expectancy, the US has an average of 79 years, compared to 81 in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.......compared to 82 in France, Italy, Sweden, Spain and Canada......abd compared to 83 in countries like Japan and Switzerland.

So, when we boast of our "exceptionalism," ...at least regarding our longevity....we best deal with facts
Rant thread alert....

Lets sing this together, right wingers.....

.....Why can't they be like we were, perfect in every way,
Oh what's the matter with Libs, today.......

I love the great country that this one was. It isn't that country anymore. I certainly don't love what this country has become or still becoming.

American exceptionalism has nothing to do with our laws or social programs like health care or where we rank on those programs with the rest of the world.
It's about our principals and ideology based on liberty, egalitarianism, individualism, republicanism, and laissez-faire.
This ideology should never be labeled a right or left thing.

Now, here's a right winger who would love to relocate to Israel...after all, you can carry a gun there even to the bathroom. Now THAT is 2nd amendment freedom.

You're right ......what a great country this would be if right wingers could just get rid of:

those darkies
those gays and lesbians
those unions
those foreigners
those libs......

We can do that here in America too in several of our States.

facts are more than you fevered brain can handle there unhinged?
btw been to France too.

Facts are generally 180° of what you leftists claim.

France can be very charming. It is extremely expensive and the majority of people have drastically lower standards of living than Americans. Again, I do understand that the major goal of the left is to reduce the standard of living for Americans, so you can lead the way by relocating to France!
thanks for proving my point as you so often do..

I had to do that in the military..... it's not so bad....

Problem is liberals have gone away from those principles.... They punish excellence and reward failure.

it reeks!

Again, you have the freedom to move. Granted, France won't give you citizenship the way you demand we do for illegals swarming over the southern border, but hell, with costs of about triple for basics, you'll live a swell life. You fucking leftists claim every other place in the world is so much better - so leave.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

And take your picture of Chairman Mao with you.
this is just as much my country as it is yours .
it's odd that you want any one who doesn't buy your bullshit to leave.
if this country has become as fucked up as you wish it has would it be in your best interest to move?
from all the noise you make you are fighting a lost cause.

In 2014, more Americans lived below the poverty line than at any time since 1959, when the U.S. Census Bureau began collecting this data.

How fascinating, and how meaningless.

In 1959, those below the poverty line risked missing meals and lacking sufficient clothing.

In 2014, those below the poverty line are obese and risk having to wait until the PS4 goes on sale before buying one.

Last January, TIME commissioned photographer Joakim Eskildsen to capture the growing crisis, which now affects nearly 46.2 million Americans. “For Europeans living outside of America, it’s a mythical place because we’re breastfed with all those images of Coca-Cola and American culture,” Eskildsen says. “It was very heartbreaking to see all kinds of people facing poverty because many of these people were not only economically poor, but living in unhealthy conditions overall.”

So, the left commissioned a demagogue to support a fiction that the left seeks to create?

Well dayum..

But then there is this;

{
Take another look as well: we know that Russia is where bloated plutocrats loot everything from the country: and yet the bottom 10% in the US have, by this measure at least, better lives than the top 10% in Russia. And the top 10% in Portugal (where I live) and Mexico.

I think we really might have to do some thinking about what is indeed the best system for the poor. Maybe it really is to let rip with capitalism, allow the inequality to grow but make the poor richer at the same time?

Then there’s this rather older one. It comes from the EPI’s State of Working America Report (2004 vintage I seem to recall):

This is now purely economic numbers: nothing about civic engagement and all the rest. It’s after all taxes and benefits, it using PPP (so we have adjusted for price differences between countries) and it’s incomes of the top 10% and bottom 10% compared to the US median income. And we see very much the same story as we do at the top. The US is a much more unequal place than other countries. But notice also that we’re told that the US bottom 10% have a living standard very similar to those of Finland and Denmark: you know, those icy social democracies where they care more about the poor.}

Astonishing Numbers America s Poor Still Live Better Than Most Of The Rest Of Humanity - Forbes

Poor is a relative term. American poor live better than 90% of the average in the world and better than the top in many places.

The problem is liberals are trying to turn the rest of America into California. I had to move from there because I was always broke and overtaxed, robbed, burglarized, underpaid, overworked, and couldn't speak enough Spanish.
